Vis unita fortior. Stoke City FC.

Post by Zero »

Sorry admin, not sure if this is the right board for this thread - please move if not.

OK expats, I have a question for youse. I'm sick and tired of watching Stoke games on my own, as most of my lightweight bindipping scouse or pretentious poncey manc mates are either too bevvied or simply too aloof to suffer the indignity of watching the Mighty Potters with me, Hua Hin's only Stokie

Last night I had to sit alone, with just three beautiful Thai ladies for company and within earshot of another monofan from Swansea, moaning his nutsack off, as the Mighty Potters put the Pride of Wales to the sword. :neener:

So, is there a Stoke friendly bar in HH (and yes, before the pisstake commences, I realise that's pushing it...), or are there any other disenfranchised Stoke City fans that fancy a pint whilst singing "Delilah" as we watch the the worlds greatest club side perform their magic?

As a lone Stokie, I can usually talk the guys (they actually take pity on me) at the excellent Urban Fuzion bar, opposite the Police Station, into showing the Stoke game on one of their smaller screens as long as there no so called "big games" on, however, if 2 or 3 of us horrible Auk-like, noisy, six-fingered, Stokies turned up, then they'd simply have no option but to accede to our "big screen" demands... :)

Vis unita fortior (United Strength is Stronger) is our club motto, after all.

Yes, I had noticed that Kendo. Not the best timing for us, or indeed anyone to pay a visit to St. Mary's.

However, we do seem to be a far better proposition on the road these days...Not many sides go to Maine Road and come away with three points . I think it could be a superb game and I really fancy us to upset the form book.

Let's see.

IMO, Stoke is an OK club. I've always liked Crouch and it amazes me that with the long legs he has, he's stayed healthy and relatively injury free from what I recall. Lawrenson predicted Stoke to win this week so there are believers out there. You never know for this week. Southampton could be full of themselves over the 8-0...we'll see. Good luck. :thumb: Pete

Peter Crouch was signed by Tony Pulis and was really hung out to dry under TP's 4-4-1------1. Now Mark Hughes has finally changed the way we play. With real pace on the wings, giving Crouch the service he absolutely needs, he's not the quickest.

But for a big man, he has the most fantastic feet and touch, a football brain second to none and he's a clinical finisher. I've never seen a more complete player, not since Alan Hudson anyway, in the red and white stripes of Stoke.

With the right service, Crouchie is once again showing everyone just what a fantastic and totally awkward proposition that he can be. He's a real talent and a fantastic pro.

Made my blood boil when Crystal Palace under TP bid 1mill for him. Not the prettiest but one of the best.

It's very un-Stoke like that and there have been some groans from many Stokies on our forum, The Oatcake. We don't like cheats and we don't tolerate it of our own.

You only have to look at the amount of times Crouchie was getting his shirt pulled and his remonstrations with the linesman. If youre going to blow for that shite, you have to blow for all that shite.

So, the referee had a 'mare. He blew for grabbing in the box against Shawcross on Bony. Whilst that's fine, most Premiership games would end up with with 8-10 sendings off if consistency came into it. And Bony goes down at the drop of a hat, even with the frame of an ox. Outside the penno area he somehow manages to stay on his feet...

We felt totally aggrieved, and I knew straight away that the ref realised he had screwed up, and so I say he created the conditions for the second penno to be awarded sooner rather than later, for anything.

And with the Stoke fans in full cry, Swansea were doomed as soon as the ref. blew the first penno. Nobody comes away from the Brit with anything if the fans get riled. It's a bear pit of earsplitting dogs abuse. On occasion there's no other ground quite as hostile, in any sport, on the planet i'm afraid.

AND Gary Monk is a complete twat in my opinion for PMIV bitch comments. I hope the FA dish out exactly what the prat deserves. Disgraceful.

I don't think we wanted to be you when we signed those guys. You were utter shite! However Fuller and Delap are gods to Stokies and Beattie was a sensational signing until Tony Pulis slapped the nut on him, naked in the shower, allegedly.

But you're doing OK now, however, i'll wager 500 DingDongs with you right now that Stoke will end the season above Saints.
