Sony LCD TV Repair Shop

Post by vistana »

Any one know of a place that can repair a Sony LCD TV..... it appears no power is getting in to the TV, have tried many different sockets which we know are working but still no luck with turning it on.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure where to go to fix it but I know it is a common problem with TV's, it is quite expensive for a small fix. We had a thread on how to fix yourself a few years ago - DIY TV repairs, save yourself a fortune.

If it is not for you to DIY then maybe someone will come up with another alternative.

Thanks JD, yes Pure Electric said it was more than likely the power board/motherboard which would mean having to send it to Sony in Bangkok.....away for a month and a bill in the region of 5,000 baht!

So as it is 6 years old ....decided to buy a new one.

But if anyone knows of a local repair man who might be able to work some magic be good in the spare bedroom.

Thanks

Had the same problem with a Sony and took to shop by railway. A week or two later they could not repair without charging a bundle and mine was less than 2 years old. If its that old you might be better purchasing a new LED one with a few more (unnecessary) features and sharper screen. Check with Big Kang for best price. Can now even get 55" for between 20-30,000 baht.
