Went early doors (7pm) to Makarm restaurant up on the railway side b4 the flyover south of town..not been for a coupla years now, & again had great Thai food at reasonable price..we had about 7 dishes ordered off the menu, & all tasted good.. :cheers Came away happily stuffed..
(Yes, had #1 off the menu..their duck salad..which is in fact a crispy duck-meat rissole..wonderful).

Re: Restaurant News
Used to be one of my favourites but haven't been for years, might give it another go! How were the mossies, they could be a bit of a problem?

They had a floor-fan blowing at each table to keep the mozzies away..
Re: Makarm restaurant
can you give more specific instructions on how to get there please, or may be you have a map ?
do they have a sign outside the place ?

Re: Makarm restaurant
Been one of the best Thai restaurants in Hua Hin for the entire 10 years I've lived here (actually there, in Issan at the moment). That duck salad is to die for and the crabmeat fried rice is the best too!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Makarm restaurant
Can anybody give more precise directions please?

Re: Makarm restaurant
If coming fron KT as you swing under the overpass, right at the tightest point of the corner, take the track on your Left. Turn immediately right without going over the trai tracks and go 500 m. It's on your right over a small footbridge.
I think you can get to it from Soi 94 again following the tracks keeping to the seaward side of them, in that case it will be on your left.

Nothing from Soi 94 will get you there. That seaward dirt track ends at Soi 102.NOKYAI wrote:If coming fron KT as you swing under the overpass, right at the tightest point of the corner, take the track on your Left. If you are driving a car you might be better served to go under the flyway and back to Soi 106. Just prior to crossing the RR tracks take a left there and it's approx. 100 meters +/- from on the left across from the footbridge.
Cheers!
Re: Makarm restaurant
Was there a few months ago and the footbridge was fenced off. They were upgrading the road on the beach side of railway tracks and that is the road to take. Runs from under the flyover down to soi 102(?). There is actually a couple of car parking spaces at the back of the restaurant
Re: Makarm restaurant
Phil D is correct! I hadn't been for a few years, but drove up that road last night. They have made a new car park on the seaward side of the tracks so don't need the rickety bridge.

Route from Soi 94 to Makarm (all paved, no dirt tracks):
