I attended my first HuaHin City game on Saturday and I must say I enjoyed it ( St Johnstone supporters are easily pleased) I agree with Sabai Sabai that HH were the best side, full marks to them for keeping at it to get a well deserved equaliser. They finished strongly and fully deserved their win. On the downside 2 glorious chances were wasted with woeful headers. More work to do on the training ground there. Also at corners I would like to see more players on the 6 yard box. I thought the ref' had a good game though the opposition may not agree. The band and chorus keep up the beat for the full 120 minutes and once I got used to it actually enjoyed it - I can see them attracting the young Thai support when the ground in HuaHin is functioning likewise I think more Farangs will give their support at the new ground. I think the future is pretty bright.

I've seen much worse referees, but I wouldn't go as far as saying good. He made a couple of huge blunders.

The first was when the Thonburi defender passed the ball back to the keeper a bit high and a bit hard. The keeper had to catch the ball to prevent a goal. Realising his mistake, the keeper threw the ball behind for a corner and feigned injury to prevent punishment.

There were the obvious misunderstandings of the offside rule as well. Yes Anucha is often too lazy to stay onside, but he was so crippled during injury time, there was no way he could have been interfering with play, except in Thailand.

They've published photos of the new ground (obviously a long way to go). Is anybody any wiser as to where it is, I'm not.

Dundrillin, I am so glad you enjoyed your first experience of the mighty UHT Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC. I have to say that what you witnessed on Saturday was absolutely dire and we can and should have played so much better. The team are in transition and it showed. We were probably spoiled last season with some very decent performances at home and I am sure we will get it right. Some people were saying that the team we played are a top side in our league, but they were decidedly average and we were woeful, so you can see the level of expectancy that we have with our team. We were treated to some truly awful refereeing last season, so the ref on Saturday was ok compared to what we were made to suffer last season. I know this is Thailand, but the basic rules of the game are totally lost here and you will see things that players would never get away with in the UK - even at St Johnstone!! Foul throw-ins for instance!! Hopefully things will become a lot clearer this week with the new arrivals, whoever they are, and we can concentrate on getting things right on the pitch. The first league game is on Saturday and it is a ''home game'', but because of the punishment handed out, we have to play at Tha Yang, which is not far from Petchaburi. Hopefully we will be treated to a vastly better performance than last week. See you there!!

I've not been to see myself but according to my friend, he says if you're going through Takiab coming from Hua Hin, it is not far past Beach Hut Bar on your right hand side. He said there was actually a football pitch there previously as well.

I've been looking hard at the 2 photos, and I've at last spotted a familiar landmark. Just above the roof in photo 2, you can see the top corner of the monstrosity built at the end of town, so I'm guessing it's that heap of mud beside the flyover, which is great for me :D

Well, that's unusual - I was wrong :D

The club have just clarified:
area near CICADA
I will take a drive down there later to take a look for myself.

I must say that I'm a little disappointed, but I now understand why umbrellas are being given as half-time raffle prizes.

Found it!!!

Just along from a few bars also, which I think will be an attraction for a few :D

Prime real estate IMHO, only about 400 yards from the sea - I wouldn't have believed it, unless I'd seen it.

Here's a short video of the location:

So my friend was right enough? I was beginning to think he was mistaken when I seen Cicada mentioned!

Well it's good that we've established exactly where the new stadium will be, it looks like it's exactly where Sabai Sabai's friend said it was.

Hopefully this will be the scene of many great games, and triumphs in years to come. :D

Glad there's a few bars nearby, apart from the ones at each end of the pitch supported by goalposts  . If the expected increase in support due to this development, along with all the other positive things happening at the club, there will undoubtedly be traffic congestion on match days so I may have to go down the night before. I wonder how I could pass the time until kick off ....

I also attended the game on Saturday and it was very enjoyable, despite the fact I did not win anything in the half time raffle for the 64th consecutive week!! :(

I have seen us play a lot better, perhaps not surprising given the number of new players settling in, but nevertheless we were the better team throughout. I am still concerned about our inability to turn good outfield play and possession into GOALS!! Hopefully the arrival of our Brazilian striker, along with his two mates will sort this out, and quickly, otherwise we will end up losing games we have dominated. (as we almost did on Saturday)

Finally, what a pleasure to meet Dundrillin, and discover he is a fellow St Johnstone supporter, that makes three of us attending Hua Hin games now. I know before you say it, that's almost as many as attend St Johnstone's home games

Is the location the place that used to charge for car parking when Cicada was open?

If you look on the Khao Takiab map, the entrance to the ground is between The Beach Hut and the Lord Webb.
