Hua Hin Immigration Office Hours

Post by hhfarang »

Anyone know the current opening and closing hours of Immigration here... and do they close for lunch for an hour or hour and a half like they used to on Soi 102?

I live at the extreme other end of town and don't want to go all the way up there and find them closed. :|
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Up 102 I used to pitch up at 1230 and sit outside having a coke with all my papers on the table. After finishing their lunch/fag/snooze they often breezed over, checked my papers and ushered me in via the back door to do the business before opening.

Always helps if you mingle with them over lunch and hand out a Wai and a smile

Dont know about the new place. Sound like the black hole of Calcutta. Thai style

I think their hours are 8-12 and 1:30-3:30. Avoid Mondays and mornings if possible. Go in after 1:30 Tue.,-Friday. Very few go in afternoon from my experience and verified when I asked the lady who processed my Retirement Visa renewal.

Thanks Brianks, sounds like their hours are the same as always with the hour and a half for lunch... and I agree. When they were on Soi 102 (just a few minutes from where I live) I always went in the afternoon after lunch and the place was never crowded. Since they moved, I always go in the morning because I hate fighting the afternoon traffic all the way through town and it's always been packed!

I guess I'll go back to afternoons.

There was some discussion on another thread about a change (maybe in other locations) of the rules on 90 day reporting. The rule used to be you could go up to 5 work days or a week late with no penalty but someone mentioned that now there is a penalty if you are one day late but you can go up to a week ahead.

Mine is due on Sunday, when they are closed. I am in Bangkok for the next few days so I don't think I will make it before Monday. Since they are closed on my report date, is one day late still ok, at least in that circumstance?

Old thread I know but things have a habit of changing overnight in this kingdom.

Does anyone have an idea as to whether immigration closes for all or part of Chinese new year?
