Easiest way to fix Zanussi oven timer?
Can anyone suggest where to find someone capable of fixing existing or supplying and installing new timer in a Zanussi ZOB22K built in oven?

Where did you buy the Zanussi oven? I have not seen the Zanussi brand here so you may have a hard time.easyas wrote:Can anyone suggest where to find someone capable of fixing existing or supplying and installing new timer in a Zanussi ZOB22K built in oven?

Unless you really need an automatic built in timer I would bypass it. Very simple and free

Zanussi ovens are stocked by at least one Hua Hin electrical store - Pure Plaza.

May have to come to that - but I like to slow cook, casseroles curries and the like, and I wouldn't want to fall asleep on the job and wake up to an incinerated dinner!poosmate wrote:Unless you really need an automatic built in timer I would bypass it. Very simple and free

A cheap and dirty way would be to buy a normal light timer that plugs into an outlet and hook the oven up to it. Only problem may be the wattage of the oven vs the capacity of the timer. Pete
EDIT: There may be such a thing as heavy duty appliance timers as well. I haven't shopped for timers lately.

According to their web site the nearest repair center is in Singapore. You may want to contact them for help as maybe they could send a part and instructions. Just click the drop-down box on the web page below and select Thailand and you will get all the contact info for the office (Electrolux, which is apparently part of the same company) in Singapore.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

If Electrolux are part of the same group, then they have a very good service center in Bangkok. One of the managers speaks very good English, but sorry, I do not have his direct phone number.hhfarang wrote:According to their web site the nearest repair center is in Singapore. For what Pete has written it would probably be safer to include a small relay in the circuit in such a way that the timer is only switching the relay.

It would be much easier, and probably no more expensive, to buy a slow cooker/crockpot.
This is the way

Zanussi was taken over by Electrolux in late 1984.

It'd be well worth my while seeing what he can do - please PM me.J.J.B. wrote:There's a guy I know who specialises in odd jobs of this nature. They whisked it away and brought it back the next day, good as new, for less than 2k. If you're interested, I'll DM you his number. He's Thai, with very good English and he comes highly recommended from a number of large hotels/condos where he does similar work. It's worth a try before going for an all-out replacement...
The part itself should't be all that expensive to buy if need be - it's only a mechanical timer with an auto shut off.

Re: Easiest way to fix Zanussi oven timer?
It should be fairly straight-forward, as you say. In Amy case, PM sent - hope it works out.
