If the fight starts at 1000 or 1100 on Sunday morning and is on free to air thai channel 7 will I be able to watch it in bars in the Bintabaht area? I only go there at night time so have little idea of what is open at that time in the morning. Any thoughts on a good bar to watch it? Thanks.

I read a sign at V-Bar on Soi Selakam that they will open at 10 a.m. on Sunday and show the fight. Would be more fun to look it with other people than alone at home.
Things We Didn’t Know About Manny Pacquaio

"

This coming Saturday, one of the most anticipated, and certainly the richest, boxing match in history will take place. The flashy, cash-splashing Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr will fight the hero of The Philippines, Manny Pacquaio in the welterweight “Fight of the Century”.
All we ever hear is about how much money Mayweather has and his feudal friendship with 50 Cent. But what about the Pacman? Just because we don’t hear so much about the little Filipino, doesn’t mean that his life is boring. Far from it in fact.
In his home country, Manny is anything but a regular person. In addition to his wife and five children – named Emmanuel Jr, Michael Stephen, Mary Divine Grace, Queen Elizabeth and Israel – Manny has the whole nation on side. And when he goes for a run in the morning in Los Angeles, he regularly has hundreds of people take that run with him.
He has achieved a lot more than boxing victories too. Manny is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserve Force of the Philippine Army and the shortest man to ever play professional basketball in The Philippines. Interestingly, when Daniel Orton played against Manny and then subsequently questioned his abilities publicly, the ex-NBA player was sacked from his team. Yeah, the Filipino public are quite fond of Pacquaio.
He has also starred in a lot of movies in The Philippines. He has played everything form a rebel commander to a crime-fighting superhero. What would you name this superhero? You guessed it – “Pacman”.
Perhaps the craziest thing about Manny Pacquaio is a horrendous story which might give insight in to how he got so tough. It is a short story but it sure packs a punch…
…When Manny was just twelve years of age, he ran away from home because his dad ate his dog. No, that was not a misprint. “I had a little dog, it got killed by a friend of my dad and then he ate it. I was 12 years of age, it was a tough childhood,” Pacquiao said, according to news.com.au.
From there the youngster jumped on a boat to Santos City where to get by, he bought whole boxes of donuts and went around selling them individually to make some cash. He slept in cardboard boxes for some time until he could gain entry in to a boxing program which happened to provide accommodation for fighters.
From those tough and humble beginnings, Manny has literally fought his way to the top. He gained much attention on the road to stardom in 2003 when he became the only person to ever knock out Marco Antonio Barrera, who was considered one of the best of all time. An upset victory in 2008 against Oscar De La Hoya began an incredible run of form which saw him take on and beat a whole string of respected fighters on his way to becoming a boxing superstar, not just in his country but the world over.
But he is never more popular than in his home nation. At home in the Philippines, on a night when there is a Pacman fight on television, police reports will usually indicate a dramatic drop in crime. Why? Simply because everyone is glued to the TV, watching their national hero.

For all of you waiting anxiously for the fight I can confirm it is listed for 9 am on Sunday on Ch 7 (Ch 5 on the Truevisions set top box). It is even listed in English which is not usual on the Thai channels. Excact wording from the onscreen tv guide is "World Super Welterweight Championship". So this means all in Thailand can watch it for free no matter which provider they use, or by antenna reception.
I would have been much more confident of a Pacquiao win if the fight was 3-5 years ago. Mayweather is no dummy, he didn't want a fight with him while he was still in his prime. I'm feeling nervous about this......I just don't know..... Unfortunately I lean towards Mayweather, and pray I'm wrong! Pete

I agree, this fight is way past it's sell by date. It's the fight everyone wanted to see but Mayweather kept finding a reason (dodge) for it not to happen, whereas Pacquiao would have signed on the line at anytime.
Back in the day when both were only 3-4 weeks from being fight ready, this would have been a very even contest, and now it's on, Mayweather has waited until Pacquiao is never going to be as good as he was.
Agree, heart says Pacquiao but brain is saying Mayweather.
Well, Mayweather is certainly the bookie's favourite. He's also an out and out defensive boxer, so whilst I would love to see the PacMan place him firmly on his @rse - it's very likely to go the distance IMHO........... I just hope it's PM who gets the decision.
I assume it's the program starts at 9 am Thai time (4 am UK)...... As a rule there's normally a minimum of an hour's lead -in/BS before the actual fight. Does anyone have any idea when the fight is actually due to start. Don't really want to get up by 4 am and then sit through 1-2 hours of nonsense before the fighters enter the ring.
