Re: Oven Cleaner
I had the same prob a few weeks ago, nothing that I could see in Tesco but Villa Market has them. I'm out of the country at the mo so I cannot tell you what brand but I seem to remember they were right at the bottom of the shelf.

No problem with a 'self-cleaning oven'! Why aren't all ovens made like that?

It is self cleaning but has been neglected for a time so needs a helping hand.HHTel wrote:No problem with a 'self-cleaning oven'! Why aren't all ovens made like that?

If at Villa, it's probably named "Easy Off". Pete

I've been there. Just need to run the 'Pyro" setting at it's highest level, then after brushing it out just do it again. Takes a few hours and uses quite a lot of power but has always worked for me.brianhuahin wrote:It is self cleaning but has been neglected for a time so needs a helping hand.HHTel wrote:No problem with a 'self-cleaning oven'! Re: Oven Cleaner
I read one of those household tips last week - apparently shaving foam works on ovens! As well as keeping bathroom mirrors steam free and some other stuff.
Not tried it but it does sound like a very cheap - and safer - alternative to abrasive cleaners.

Have you tried using hydrogen peroxide? Cheap; virtually harmless, and a very effective cleaning agent.
Mags, you can stop mirrors from steaming up by polishing them with a little bit of soap.

Thanks for all the homespun tips, not sure my Grandma was around when electric ovens were invented. She was a gas gal.

Re: Oven Cleaner
Yep, some good ideas 'cos a can of oven cleaner, manufactured for the job, good for several cleans, obviously highly abrasive and toxic, will be a couple of hundred baht at least.
