So much for not losing any of our players.....
Anucha has Joined TOT on a 6 month loan.
I actually seen someone wishing him all the best on the club's Facebook this afternoon but thought they were on the wind-up! Apparently not....

Hi Guys,
As I am yet again trapped inside my house here in Scotland, due to the weather, which is way beyond a joke! :cuss:
I thought I might join in the discussion, if that is alright  Firstly, I wonder if any of you have a point of view with regards the goal we conceded at the weekend? Does anyone think it was due to us, "faffing about at the back", or perhaps it was a misplaced pass, or indeed was it down to the opposition breaking very quickly and finishing quite superbly? :naughty: :duck:

Sorry ... I am only joking.

Here is my serious point ...... I have seen it mentioned several times by BB that ..... we have dropped 5 points out of the last 9. Quite simply that statement is false :tsk:

In the first of these matches we came back and secured a draw with a last minute goal, some would argue that we "gained" a point, however for the sake of discussion lets just say that instead of winning we only drew, (due to the defensive inadequacies) therefore instead of collecting three points we only secured one point. I don't necessarily agree but I could understand the argument that we "dropped" two points

From the game at the weekend we were drawing prior to the "incident" and would have received one point had it remained that way at full time.

So due to the "incident" instead of collecting one point, we did not receive any points i.e. we "dropped" one point.

So to summarise, we dropped TWO points in the first match and a further ONE point at the weekend, making a total of
THREE points dropped out of the last nine, not Five!

I don't suppose that will cheer anyone up, however, hopefully a good win this coming week will restore all the smiles!!

Yes, I agree there isn't much more to get out of the highlights, but how many bad passes do we have to suffer in the danger area before we learn? [Edit] Outside of that blunder, the team played really well. Faffing about at back, on reflection was probably a bad term to use, but I was looking at the cumulative bad passes out of defence since the start of the second half of the season. We are better than that.

We are suffering those same bad passes week after week. OK, Valery's pass was a real bloomer, but I honestly don't understand why many could not see it coming weeks ago. Fortunately, the coaching staff seem to have seen it, and the number incidents noticeably reduced Sunday Saturday  , but it is still work in progress.

Not my words, but from a good friend:
We are always going to give silly goals like that away because our defenders are tactically stupid. Usually defenders pass it around until a free midfielder is available and if none becomes available give it the big hoof up the park and make them chase it.
Let's see if if we resort to the same tactics when we go a couple of goals up against JW Police on Sunday.

Your good friend's words are fair enough, except on Saturday there WAS a free midfielder available in Nutthapong, which is exactly whom he tried to pass to! So, other than unfortunately making an arse of the pass, he's done exactly as he's supposed to. Hardly tactically naive(or stupid as your friend puts it)

Sabai Sabai wrote:Put a date in your diary folks, Wednesday is the day we've been waiting on!

Kanchit interview just posted, starts talking about the disappointment of losing at the weekend and how we can't afford any more slip ups etc etc.

He then says Wednesday there will be some form of press conference formally introducing the new players that have been brought in for the 2nd half of the season and also promises everything will be made clear with regards the coach and the staff etc as well.

Should be interesting
Well today was the big day, I went along to the press conference. The event was advertised as 13:00 but it didn't start until 13:30, no big problem, it's Thai time and I wasn't in any great rush.

I took a seat at the back of the 13 new players and various members of coaching staff and watched as the 3 'stars of the show' took their seats:

Coach Apisit
The Mayor
The guy from Intercontinental/water park etc.

The likes of Bik Dam, Marcus and Ricardo were conspicuous by their absence.

Then the master of ceremonies took the mic, gave a rundown of the club's history and brought us up to date with where we are now(at least in terms of on the pitch) before handing over to the Mayor who proceeded to wax lyrical about the club and the great things they're doing for the community blah blah blah, nothing all that exciting.

Next up was the Intercontinental dude, who although his speech was more directly linked to football matters, there was, again, nothing particularly interesting.

I was already starting to suspect by this point that nothing was going to be even talked about, let alone made clear, with regards the TOT story although this next juncture confirmed it.....

The master of ceremonies started to introduce coach Apisit by saying: 'This next man will be very tired of late as he has been very busy not only helping out Zico with the Thai national team but also coaching Hua Hin City!' Not even a mention of the fact he's been spending more time at TOT of late than anywhere else!

The coach gave a speech, spoke very well as usual but again, nothing new or exciting. This was turning into a bit of a damp squib. :?

The new players were introduced and brought up to centre stage and posed for photos etc. Then, the highlight of the day for me(which is not saying much if I'm honest) was when Nutthapong was handed the mic and asked to say a few words describing how he feels about having joined up with the club..... My expectations were low, it was exactly the type of awkward situation where I thought he'd stutter out a few nervous words and get out of there ASAP.... But to be fair, he'd clearly given it some thought and spoke extremely well for a good couple of mins. The guy continues to impress me both on and off the pitch, seems a real class act. Although I did chuckle at one point when he said: 'The lads have been training extremely hard in preparation for achieving our goal(of CL) but nobody has been complaining!'...... I have heard reports to the contrary however!

All in all it was a bit of a let down today, learned nothing new, even the players that got introduced have been playing for several weeks now! Given I had a few things to do in the area today anyway I didn't really mind, had I made a point of going into town specifically for that I'd have been feeling somewhat short changed.

Thanks for that SS :thumb:

Such a shame that things are still shrouded in mystery. Lets just hope the players and coaching staff are being kept up to date.

Someone on Facebook claiming to have learned Hua Hin will effectively take TOT's place, ie if TOT can avoid the drop this season, Hua Hin will be playing premier league football next season...... He is asking for confirmation on the official page.

There is a precedent for this as recently as 2009 when 4th tier Bangkok Glass bought premier league Krung Thai Bank, changed their name to Bangkok Glass, moved location and took their place in the premier league.

No idea if this is true or not, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Personally, I hope not. OK, it would be nice to see Premiership football here, but I'd rather we win that right, rather than buy it. TIT.

Yes, I have similar feelings myself. However, from the investor's point of view, I can understand that would surely be appealing.

It would also tie in with how much time the coach and his staff have been spending there, along with Anucha being sent on loan. Maybe I'm just over thinking things now but would it possibly explain the silence on the matter?! It's perhaps not ideal to be coming out with something like that in the middle of a season! :naughty:

As I say, no idea if true, so could be nonsense, indeed the club have denied it when asked for confirmation but I guess if the club aren't going to come out with an official announcement we'll have to make do with these hearsay stories in the meantime!

My biggest concern, if it is true, is how much the management are bothered about getting to the Champions League and all of the added expense that brings. OK, the rewards are usually great, but if we're already looking at jumping a division.............

I really enjoyed last season's Champions League.

I've just seen that we have a friendly with Phetburi tomorrow at 4pm.

The address given on the official page is "Phra Ram Ratchaniwet
Ratchadamnoen Rd (Ratchadamri Rd., Damrong Rak Rd.), Phetchaburi, Phetchaburi provience"

Does anybody know if that's Phetburi's usual home ground, or are they playing somewhere else? GD, do you fancy navigating again?

I've just looked up Phra Ram Ratchaniwet, which is a Royal Palace that I've visited a couple of times, and know where that is. It is located inside an army camp.
