Developer cashing in on water

We all know that water is like gold dust in Hua Hin (Thailand) However I live on a fairly new housing complex near the kalong the second phase of two sites. The large man that built the 2nd phase has now taken to charging 60 bahts per cubic meter of water compaired to what water city charge on the 1st phase of 3.5 bahts per cubic meter. It's such a shame that some people are not just interested in taking your money and running they want to turn you upside down by the ankles and shake you.

What is the development name? It is absolutely ridiculous to charge 60 baht, i know a few developers who use their own bore hole and charge around 12 baht a unit - that covers the up keep cost etc.

Cant say that but he's a large chap between Tippawan and Hua hin sea view two phases quite close to the wat Samorprong. Initials A.H

First we have land fencing denying access to the ranch. Now we have water barons gouging the settlers. Mount up and ride with 6 guns blazin'.

I was going to start an entire new thread concerning this subject, but perhaps here is sufficient for now.

The subject of water availability has never come up on this forum, to my memory.

If it is a serious issue, people need to know:

1) Is HH city water sufficient to provide a steady supply to those houses and businesses connected, 24/7? What kind of pressure?

2) How far west, south and north does the HH city water piping go?

3) For those developments beyond the HH city piping, what is the norm? a) Community bore? b) A bore at each house?

4) If water is indeed a problem, is it something you have to fight and scratch to find out about from the RE agents and developers?

I'm sorry to say that I see more shades of Pattaya here. Unbridled development with little thought concerning resources needed to live. Sorry, let me re-phrase that, plenty of thought about the subject(s) but they never tell the home buyers. Pete

Sorry, Pete, I know this is very serious, but I couldn't get past number 1 without laughing. Anyone who thinks this is an affirmative answer either lives in a hotel or has a water tank/pump. Before I got a water tank & pump I spent 18 months with no water at night (it stopped any time between 6 & 10pm) and sometimes cut-offs in the day as well. And I live 10 mins walk from central Hua Hin
In some farther out places, there is no Tessadban water - I don't know if there's no water, but there's no pipes in those places.

If you have a khun Ying living up your road, a politician, or just someone with loads of dosh, you will have a water supply, phone line, power and even three phase if you're lucky.

If not - it seems that the local authorities will lay on whatever you want as long as you are prepared to pay half the cost. And since they double the 'cost' at the estimate stage - yep you've guessed it - you PAY for ALL of it.

i suffer a power cut at least 3 times a week i have 5 yes five policemen in my street plus 2 kings palace high security peops and guess who is my very right side neighbour thats right the maintenance manager for the Hua Hin electric company

Now true we do get reconnected quite quickly when he is at home but when he isnt lie back and sweat is the order of the day.

I have lived here in samo proung for 7 years now and i can say we have only ever had mains water 24/7 for about 4 months total as i type we have no mains water
on numerous occasions we have been without water to the extent our tanks go dry fortunately one lady works for the pessabahn and her old man works at the fire station so we get our tanks filled up by the fire engine

the kids luvit thats the LOS foryah:D

Palm Hills has water 24/7 it cost 16Baht per unit (1000 litres). They have their own water system which seems to work rather well. It is more expensive than outside of Palm Hills, but I guess you get what you pay for. (if you are lucky)

Hi there Norm!
I can reaffirm what you say aboot Palm Hills. I was a Student @ the Campus way inside Palm Hills for aprox. 4 years and apart from internal problems there was almost no Problems with water @ our End!
60 baht per cubic meter of water is the charge of that 3nd phase Residential Devellopment you say roundeyes? shame on them for charging that much!!!
