They are all pretty good and much cheaper than Bangkok. Don't get sucked in by a deal that seems to be too good to be true. These deals involve the cheapest and thinnest cloth.
You get what you pay for.
I have had many quality suits made by Savino in Dechanuchit Rd, a Nepalese guy who gives good value service.

I have had numerous suits, shirts, dresses for the wife, all made at Picasso Tailors. Khun Wassana and Khun Uthai are the owners and excellent to work with! They have two branches although the one we use is on Phetscsaem Rd. across from the clock tower.
I wouldn't have to manage my anger if people could learn to mange their stupidity!

remember the tailors shops do no tailoring, they are just salesmen. The clothes are made by Thais in liitle sweat shops. As you go up Soi 80, almost the last business on the left is such a shop. One alternative is to visit them, tell them what you want, then the difficult part, go and buy however much material they say they need. Difficult but you know you are getting good stuff. Cut out the annoying middle men and save save.

I don't understand this comment unless Mike Tailors have their own dedicated sweatshop.ahandpatsy wrote:I have had 6 suits made. Mike tailors is by a country mile the best. You get what you pay for
When I was at my largest size, I had to have clothes specially made. I've had many suits, trousers and shirts made over the years. The shop never really mattered, the result was always good. I must say, I've never tried Mike tailors, so I can't say if they are a step above.
I ended up cutting out the middle man in the end, just as oakdale suggests.
[Edit] The only thing that varied between the shops I've used was price, not quality e.g. if you wanted top notch lining, you simply told them and you would pay a little extra. Maybe its things like that which Mike put in as standard. However, IMHO if its a summer suit, you don't necessarily want that extra lining.

The shops themselves do not make the suits, they measure up, and pass the order to a sweatshop.

The sweat shop at the top of Soi 80, has now builta showroom. As we all know the Indian tailor shops do not makwe any clothes, thais make them. You could always go direct to them but you had to buy the material yourself which was a pain, But the cost was about 30-40% less. Its not that it's is just cheaper, I would rather the profits go ro the Thais who do the work. If you enter Soi 80 from the railway road end, it is about the 2nd or 3rd shop on the right.

I agree with ahandpatsy, Mike & Tailors is the best I have come across so far. Tried two others before and was not 100% happy. The main Mike & Tailor store beside the InterCon has has its tailor shop in the back, so everything is being done inhouse.

Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
I may have a Dinner suit made when I come in October as I am going on a Cunard cruise over Christmas, no I am not wealthy, the cruise has been paid for by someone else.
The Soi 80 shop, does it now provide material?
I pass loads of tailor shops within 250 yards of El murphys which are probably manned by Bangladeshis, I am not sure if they would try bait and switch with the material.
Mike are near the Intercon, where is the other one?
TIA

The Thai tailors at the top of 80 now havea showroom with rolls of material.
Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
Cheers oakdale, I am not sure that they would stock evening wear dinner suit material, I can always have a look when I come the end of October.
Re: Best Hua Hin tailors?
What they don't stock they can get hold of. They have many books of swatches to choose from and my father-in-law had a dinner suit made there for a cruise he was going on so I'm very confident you'll be looked after.Gus wrote:Cheers oakdale, I am not sure that they would stock evening wear dinner suit material, I can always have a look when I come the end of October.

They will have the best part of a month to get the suit right.
