Vana Nava 0 - 5 (or was it 6?) Port FC

Irrespective of the cock ups leading to today's match and the disappointing score, today's news has to be that we have sponsors this year i.e.:

- Intercontinental
- Vana Nava
- Bluport
- True Arena
- Leo
- Bangkok Hospital
- Cool Smile
- there may be others, but that's what I remember.

Until today, I couldn't see the club surviving past June, but now i can see that there may be a way forward.

The game wasn't as bad as the score sounds. Basically, the Port forwards were not quite as bad as ours. As was said many times last season when the twins were missing, we were like a toothless tiger. On the bright side, Port have just fropped from the Premier League and are amongst the favourites to return next season.

It is still difficult to judge how we will fare in the 2nd division this season, but after last season's troubles, I am not expecting too much.

Next game is 4 Feb 16 @ 16:00hrs - Guinea FC venue Takiab Stadium - cost 0 Baht, so watch this space to see how they can cock this fixture up :banghead:

I'm a litle mixup with todays game as it was a friendly game.
However I think we look a bit thin in the last 1/3 of the pitch, there were no one running in depth so it was difficult for our midfielder to make some pass through their defence.
I really happy with Shota even he maybe could have done a litle better on the 1 goal,he seems very good with his feet and is a good sweeper as well ( didn't now a better word )
We need some hight's as we looks very small one every place,so we "baffing" around to much and even on pitch that was perfect,we lost the ball to much in the midfield.
The opponent could have make a couple more but we were lucky that their no. 10 missed a few chances and a penalty I think.
Looking forward to a game were there's some point at stake,so we can see were we really stand.
Come on Hua Hin ,we cheer Hua Hin

Couldn't make the game due to being hungover, and tennis from the comfort of the couch being more appealing! Will definitely try and make the next one....... Possibly at the new stadium?? Will the pitch be ok by then??

As you mentioned BB the standard of the opposition was quite high, certainly stronger than anyone we'll face this season, so probably difficult to gauge where we're at.

That's good news, basically the same sponsors as before then? I'm guessing they must be paying up after all then? There were some rumours to the contrary.

Just leaves CGF to chase-up!

Initially a much improved performance from Hua Hin City yesterday against first division outfit Port FC. However as the game went on tireness and substitutions introducing poorer personel took their toll. Port looked a decent side but Hua Hin competed well in the first half. I fear the Hua Hins sides lack of height and physical strength will take its toll this season. It was very much a men against boys game yesterday. Most of the Hua Hin squad need to grow a foot and put on a couple of stones in weight. Furthermore we pose very little threat in the last and most important third of the pitch. We need a couple of good physical strikers.

I liked the new strip, a turquoise blue with yellow collar and cuffs. The strip was emblazened with sponsors names as already mentioned. I hope that this season they have already collected the sponsorship money as well as that owed from last season and have watertight sponsorship agreements in place. Personally I doubt it and yesterdays display of cardboard signs was no more than they displayed last season with no money ever materialising.

Yesterday was a sad day for Thai football and Hua Hin with the departure of Michael Byrne to the UK. An outstanding player who has served Thai football well over many years. It was a pleasure to see him in a Hua Hin shirt for the second half of last season and I think it will be many years before we see a player of his calibre in our colours again. Not only Michael but many others in last seasons squad had committed to the club not just for last season but this season as well but the club f**ked it up. They will be badly missed. Good luck to Michael in the future.

To compliment GD's post, the new strip (personally, I didn't like the lace up collars):

Hua Hin City 2 - Samutsongkhram 0

We play very well in 80 min. and should have won 5 or 6 - 0,they have absolutly nothing to come with.
After 10 min. we got 2 100 % chances that just show how desperate we need a decent striker,it was one of this games were you think the opponents will make a lucky goal and we would loose.
I think iI stop coung corners at 8-1 for us i the 1 half.
Ball possessios 80 - 20 first half, and 60 - 40 ie 2 half.
The 2 goals came in the 2 half and were coming from our right wing wiht a good pass into the midle,we actully was very good to spread our game out today and controlled the game from the 1 minute
The game was over just after we scored the 2 goal.

How on earth could I read BB last post , and think it was Tuesday 2/2

But as there was a game I didnt gave it a thought, before Sabai Sabai mentioned it.

I did however thought it was strange that there were so few spectators

Yes, they did announce the game against the Army very late on. I went to a similar game last season which was a complete farce. Because of that, I didn't announce yesterday's game.
