You had me going there for more than a few minutes. I though I had fallen asleep or been in a coma for 3 days!! Having said all that I didn't even know there was a game against the Army yesterday. Having asked the question on the club site if there were any intentions of getting - not one but two strikers - before the season starts it has been met with a massive silence. Says it all doesn't it!! Friendly games are all well and good to assess where the fitness levels are at but it is also an indicator as to where the strengths and weaknesses are - hence my question. If no action is taken it is going to be a very long and fruitless season. It was going to be very difficult anyway with more or less a totally new squad with some very young players and all the uncertainties surrounding the club but surely we have to give ourselves half a chance of doing something and if we don't sort out our striking situation we are going to give ourselves no chance whatsoever!!!

Maybe you should offer to finance the deal for these strikers??

I've a feeling the club's budget is stretched to the limit already.

I thought that until I had to endure the long list of sponsors at last week's Port FC game. We have at least 2 additional big sponsors this year, so are we really that broke? I know we keep hearing of having to pay last season's wages etc, but surely we don't expect that to come from sponsors cash - I know I wouldn't hand over a load of cash to pay for last season's mis-management.

If I were sponsoring the team, I would hope to see that money going towards a decent football team, which people will watch and maybe recognise my name on one of the advertising boards around the ground.

What about the money they were going to make in season ticket sales? That seems to have been a complete red herring. Or have the new sponsors negated the need for an early season begging bowl.

Do we know if the pitch has been declared playable yet? That could be a major embarrassment on Sunday when the league starts.

Can't remember the exact quote but it was along the lines of keeping the outgoings as low as possible and any profit generated whatsoever would go towards settling these old debts, which is fair enough, and an admirable stance. They could very easily have said well we've been shafted, so by consequence, so are you.

Hopefully the sponsors money makes things less desperate, but are they really going to be putting that much money in?

They said there would be 11 paid players on wages of not more than 10k a month, with the rest of the squad the kids on scholarships. I'd be surprised if that stance changed, with or without the sponsors money.

Maybe once we get paid the money from CGF!

What other income is there outside of sponsors? Gate receipts, if we're lucky, will bring in 140,000 Baht this season, which won't pay a month's wages (when you pay hangers on etc). I don't see where else, other than sponsors that we'll get any income.

Only other obvious one would be merchandise, agreed it still won't be enough though. Hence, I can't see them bringing in the strikers or anyone else.

They've already announced that Warrix will be selling merchandise this season, not the club.

That being the case, Warrix will no doubt be due a cut as well. Are you suggesting the club won't make any money from shirt sales and the like just because an outside company is doing the selling??

Sorry, if I've picked you up wrong.

In my opinion I think the club will make as much, if not more out of merchandise than they will gate receipts.

The way I picked up the announcement was that the club have absolutely no involvement in merchandise, but they get their kits in return.

Hua Hins performance today in a 1 - 0 defeat to a very ordinary Samut Songkhram team, in what I presume will be the last friendly prior to the commencement of the season can be summed up very quickly. Physically weak, can't tackle, no creativity or attacking threat. Not looking good.

I hope the tackle issue is because its a friendly,if not we have 2 big problems, that and no striker, or someone can hit the goal with power, or even hit the goal.
They looked a little tired today, maybe 2 games in 2 day is to much.
Our no. 19 loks like a skilled youngster,Shota I have weaknes for, and no.4 and 28 ( the african guys ) allso looks ok, but we are very short and I fear we will conceive some goal, on that account.
I have to go home and work soon so will not attemp more than a few games this season ,but will follow this thread when possible. Good luck to Hua Hin City, and may the force be with us :D
It was a liitle disapointed to hear that the start of the season on sunday may be posponed

OMG - 2 days to the start of the season, and we still don't know if we'll be allowed to play our fixture on Sunday.
