Avalon Development - Toledo Info

Post by cbranscombe »

Hi,
I am currently semi retired and living in the UK. I have invested in a property on the Avalon development. Can anyone give me a low down on the development, quality, amenities and things I should be considering or anything that would be of general interest?
Thanks
Chris

Don't you think it would have been better doing this before you invested ??

I can't belive you bought a place without seeing where it was ?... I guess the prospect of a $50,000 dollar villa in the tropics was too good to miss ?...i never said it....but......a fool and his money is easily parted...

Possibly the OP did do his homework as far as his own house is concerned, but now wants some general advice? If anyone can help out, please do so

Which Avalon?

Post by Big A »

First of all there's more than one Avalon.

But honestly I think the houses are different looking (in a good way) with the Spanish style and all.

The land cost at such a development is astronomical though.

I looked at the first one along time ago before anything was built there and another I know of north of town was sort of waiting to take off, I think there is even a third on the south side.

All are decent size developments

Have you looked at their website? Lots of info there and pics also.
Land cost is not astro IMO. Good location and don't forget there is infrastructure such as storm drains, deep wells for water, paving & hydro services to be paid for. This is part of the land cost as actual building costs are separate.
Yes, you can buy raw land cheaper but then you have the hassle and expense of the above.

Considering Toledo? Were I to buy an Avalon villa, I would never buy a type of villa with no kitchen.
But then again, I'm sure both Pizza Company and Burger King will do home deliveries by the time the project is ready.

biggest pile of shite i have ever seen,
buy one of these and in 2 years you will know why they are so cheap,
just look at their new development 'summerland',

jesus, the place will fall apart after the first serious downpour.

if you want to buy something then spend the extra money on something decent.
avalon are shite

believe me

Although I would not usually post on a forum I stumbled across this site and thought I would add a different perspective.

I recently purchased a property from avalon having looked at more than 10 developments in Hua Hin and could not be happier with the purchase I have made. There are now a small number of people living on the avalon development as their properties are completed and having spoken with 2 english couples and a dutch couple they seem very pleased with their purchases (despite currently living on a building site!)

To my mind there is nowhere else in Hua Hin offering anywhere near the kind of value for money that avalon are offering and having seen the quality of construction across at least 10 developments in Hua Hin have no doubts that I made the right choice.

Best of luck to anyone buying in Hua Hin!
