The replacement driver,Vandoorne, did better than Alonso usually does. Pete

The real fillip for formula One is the emergence of the Haas team and the the performances of the brilliant but erratic Grosjean. A fifth and a sixth in the first two races is very encouraging for a new team.
China GP this weekend so let's see if Hamilton can get a decent result and the Ferrari engines hold up.

Superbru says that Hamilton can not be picked as winner of Qualifyibg, because he will not start at pole position. I did not chose him, but what happens if you have chosen him?

In all cases where a change is required through no fault of your own, email support@superbru.com explain and ask them to make the change. They seem receptive when problems arise like driver changes etc., as they are quickly aware of them as well. Give them the pool name and your user name. Pete

Surely the winner of qualifying is the person with the fastest lap? If he doesn't get pole because of a penalty, that doesn't change his lap time...
This is the way

Absolutely - He simply can't be Pole because he's been penalised. Also see Alonso is still there.

The Superbru notice:

Important Notice

Lewis Hamilton has a 5 place grid penalty going into the Chinese Grand Prix so will start at best 6th on the grid. For your pole pick please pick who you believe will start the race in pole position, not who you think will top qualifying - i.e. don't pick Hamilton :)

Fernando Alonso cleared for F1 China GP return after horror crash

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/sports/ ... rror-crash

SHANGHAI - Fernando Alonso got the all-clear from medics to compete in the Chinese Grand Prix on Friday after recovering from a horrific crash at the season-opening race last month.

The former Formula One world champion passed tests after Friday's first free practice in Shanghai, after which the sport's ruling body the FIA said no further medical checks were needed unless the Spaniard develops any "abnormal symptoms".

Alonso posted the 12th fastest time in morning practice as he returned for McLaren after missing the Bahrain race two weeks ago with fractured ribs.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

Hamilton WC Points should be 39, not 9. I'll correct the spreadsheet next time.
