Four sons of police linked to deadly brawl

Post by PeteC »

Another day, another atrocity (quote the Bangkok Post)

"Four of six suspects arrested over a brawl that resulted in the death of a disabled man are reported to be the sons of police officers, posing an immediate challenge to the investigation."....

Maybe just another "isolated" incident...............

Until they start to dish out proper punishment, these crimes are simply going to continue. Of course that is not going to happen, and Thai children will continue to be taught that they can do as they please from a very young age.

How ironic this all is, in a country that never stops preaching about respecting the elderly.

In the photo in the BP article I wonder if there's a proud father among the back row. Will this incident affect any future prospects of joining the RTP?

Teamwork, willing to see a job through to the end, ruthlessness, weapons training - sounds like fast-tracking to me...

Another bunch of arrogant, self-entitled and immature Thai guys go berserk. What could the disabled bread delivery man possibly have done to warrent being stabbed in the neck........get in their way or ask them to move? Jeez, out of control!

Not to mention, a bunch on policemen's children walking around together carrying knives.......pffft.

Mr Ananchai claimed he heard a woman, believed to be the girlfriend of one of the suspects related to an officer, tell the suspects to kill Somkiat during the brawl.

Looks like they were goaded on by some tart who perhaps is equally protected in district 4.

So true Spitfire.

Such a sad case, if the BKK post has it right.

Another needless death at the hands of thugs. I doubt that the culprits will serve much, if any, time in jail.
Hope I'm wrong.

This incident, if as reported, is the absolute pits. I am sick and tired of Thai youths who think that the law does not apply to them. They get a few tattoos and think they can rule by fear.
To kill this disabled father of two is unfathomable.
I hope that this time these four thugs get locked away for a very long time and that their very entitled families have to pay fair and reasonable compensation to the victim's family.
It is time that Thai society has a hard look at itself, especially the wealthy families, who think that their sons are beyond the law.
Watching with interest to see if the law applies to the wealthy or is it only the poor who get treated harshly.

Now they have 2 underage girls in custody that were with these scumbags during the attack and are accussed of egging the attackers on and shouting to kill him. So, these 22 year-old douchebags are hanging out with underage girls too that are described as their girlfriends....just gets better each time there is an update.

There was a post on another thread?....a week or so ago about a group of young raunchy Thai thugs seen in Hua Hin who had some drop dead gorgeous Thai girls with them. I guess there is some kind of misguided attraction there. Pete

What's the angle here then - that these two underage girls are responsible for the murder - really?

Watching films showing the gangster's 'moll'. Thailand is the hub of copying --- no original thought.

My guess, the angle is charging the girls with an Inchoate Offence following the principles of criminal law on the basis of incitement or possibly conspiracy depending on how events unfolded and the intent of the girls at the time, paving the way for charges to be laid in parallel to the alleged offenders.

That's if such laws exist here. I was more thinking of watering down the others culpability because of their police connections.
