Dawn whilst i will agree Generalisations are generaly not correct and of course people Voted against This debacle of a war unfortunately the voice of america ie the american media were overwhelmingly in favour on both sides of the divide and on this war i will equally criticise the british & australians in equal measure. Both sides in both countries just went along with the lies bush blair and howard spouted and did not scrutinise any one of them
Mrs sarge thought i was stark raving mad because before a single shot was fired in iraq i was screaming at bush on the box {you effing liar} i KNEW he was lying about WMDs and any Journalist worth even half a cent should have blown those lies away Hans Blix was not reported on his views until after the war started and then shunted of the air when he gave answers the media did not like as it showed them as being lazy at best to just plain propagandists
I dont see people in large numbers marching in protest (or the media calling for it) in the USA or Britain or australia vis a vis Vietnam
It is refreshing that posters here have come out and said their views I hope it continues I also hope it stops the next debacle before it starts If i had been online i would have plagued anything and everything demanding answers and proof i alone couldnt change crap but 1,000s and millions could
Lastly I do not have a vote in any of those 3 countries but they did and now my future mrs sarges future, my son and daughter and your future is far more dangerous and they must accept responsibility for how they used their votes
Nobody can be expected to make decisions and vote correctly if they are lied to and so therefore my beef is not with the people it is with the guardians of the truth ie the opposition and with the supposed to be torch bearers ie the journalists and media

Sarge,

I'm not arguing with your views on any Govt, or with any of the facts you've presented. I'm just asking you not to generalise and call an entire nation of individuals "stupid". We have a number of American members whom I think are anything but stupid. Just doing my moddy bit. Ta very much.

A big bully of a nation invades a poorer smaller nation, the reason given is to stop them using their WMD's which never existed. Hitler's invasion of Poland was more truthful. The result of this invasion has caused whole Iraqi communities to be wiped out. Young, uneducated, psycho US commanders have overseen mass murders, rape, torture and abuse. A fraction of these horrific crimes are brought to our attention. Most of the murders and rapes the American soldiers commit are allowed to happen and go unpunished. Iraqis who fight back are labelled "extremists". Now we are told the war is against these "extremists". We are told on CNN and BBC news we (the west), are spreading democracy. Meanwhile thousands of Iraqis are in prison, arrested on the flimsiest of evidence by untrained soldiers ranging between the ages of 19 to 26 years old. The typical "democratic" process for an Iraqi prisoner is a jail term for a couple of years before trial, followed by a 15 minute court case. The Iraqi will not have any lawyer representing him until a court lawyer is appointed hours before the case is heard. It is impossible for evidence for the defendant to be presented in the kangaroo courts. Even if a lawyer wanted to find evidence for the defence, it would be impossible because the country is in complete upheaval. The "judge" will read the report made out by the arresting soldier two years earlier. He might consult a photo or two and then make his decision based on this pathetic evidence. Typically, a guilty verdict will be 20 to 30 years in prison or the death penatly. If a bomb goes off, or if weapons are found, arrests are made of any men who happen to be in the vicinity, and this is the type of justice they can expect from their new found democracy. This is the democracy the CNN and BBC don't tell us about.
Guess is spot on. Most western people watch the news on CNN or the BBC and actually believe it is the truth.

Dawn in my experience Americans who live abroad are totally different in how they view the world compared to those that sit at home sucking up Fox propaganda :lies: they do question and query whats going on
As i say my beef is not with the people but with the people whos sole job it is to find and give and tell the truth to them

The media and opposition actively or knew
Lyndon Johnson took them into vietnam on a lie which has been proved
They impeached Nixon for a burglary
They tried to impeach Clinton for a blow job

Yet these cretins bush blair & howard get a free pass for killing 3000+ of their own let alone the 1000s of Iraqis to say nothing of how they have escalated the danger in the world on a pack of lies

They marched in huge numbers to get rid of poll tax
They marched in huge numbers to stop the vietnam war

Its the silence from the opposition and media and therefore the people i have a problem with they should be marching in the streets to get rid of all 3 of them

Just a small fact 80% of americans do NOt know who Maliki is i will bet the UK and Australia are not much better

Seargent you said "IDawn in my experience Americans who live abroad are totally different in how they view the world compared to those that sit at home sucking up Fox propaganda :lies: they do question and query whats going on!" I can only agreee with you in the extend that this is the case in central USA. The Poeple who live around the east coast and west coast states do question on what's going on but they have limited means to do anything.
Talking about Impeaching Bush what the americans will get is a true Neocon in the Body of Dick Cheney ( Which I think is the ones who runs all the show and lets Bush gets all the bad approval ratings and so on.)

That assumes that it worked that way round. I have read and seen strong evidence that the swallowing was by Shrub and perpetrated by Bliar.

You have to remember that the tentacles of MI6 are much longer and more numerous than that of the CIA.

It is this subject that led to my earlier post on this thread that no one has attempted to answer regarding the poser base. I.e who controls who are they all working in perfect harmony on some hidden agenda?

Guess,

As a female, I'd just like to point out, while we'll take credit for the supreme being of goodness being a female, I'm afraid the other fella is most definitely a male!! :tsk:

You should read the book by Thomas Ricks "Fiasco:The Amereican Military Adevnture in Iraq." Studipity, arrogance, and incompetency beats conspiracy any day.

Another excellent recent book is The Greatest Story Ever Sold by Frank Rich of the New York Times.
Rich was formerly the thatre/drama critic of The NYT and has a fine eye for the marketing and production values of this hit show.
