[quote="hogus"]It's reported, that Saddam has been executed about midday (Thai time).
Apparently it was video tapped, but I'm not aware of it having been broadcast.
However, now he's gone, but who turned a blind eye to the situation in Iraq until we needed some more oil? Who sold him weapons? Who announced him as good friend and ally in the past? Who made mass-executions and especially the first Iran/Iraq-war possible?
We did, the western world under US-leadership.
When he fell into disgrace with Family Bush, the world was lied and cheated once more by the US to justify an attack war.
Bush's hunger for oil and his craving for a private revenge brought a whole region into chaos.
The actual Baghdad-puppet-regime only serves the purpose to darken the last act of retaliation against Saddam, which is completed now.
Of course, Saddam was a bastard, and too many people had to suffer under his regime.
On the other side, Bush and his "allies of willing" killed more innocent people in this war, than Saddam had done in his whole reign.
Unfortunately, I guess nobody will be able to punish and hang the responsible western leaders for their crimes.
Let's see how many lies our democratically legitimized 'representatives’ will try to tell us in 2007.[endquote="hugus"]
well said Mr. Hogus very well said.
The understudy feels untouched but shocked that this execution must happen on a Islamic Holyday. to schedule it after New year would have been not in the plans of Bush as he wanted to end the year in a ggod mood after a really bad year that he had.
"The real scandal is the behavior of USA. After the death sentence was enforced President George W. Bush said that this " This is a Milestoen for the People of Iraq". This shows how much the moral standards has came into disorder. to show Saddam hanging on the Gallow and to stylised it as Milestone is the attempt to divert the attention away from chaos and violence and the 650000 dead civilians that Iraqies had suffered since the overthrow of saddams regime. It is the attemot to divert from the lies which has the US and it's Allies pulled into the Euphrates and Tigris and start a war in 2003.
The americans are not a good exemple when it comes to establishing a constitutional law, but encourage the Iraquies to search for revenge. The death Penalty is not to be justified morally. For someone like Bush who gives so much empahsis on Peace and wants to export liberty and democracy into the world makes himself to ring hollow, if he also exports the gallow, the leathal injection and the electric chair.

I think it's honest way to say that I translated a quotation then claimed it my own though!
On the your statement "Let's see how many lies our democratically legitimized 'representatives’ will try to tell us in 2007." I can say we have to expect an earfull of it in the incomming future. as polititians will resort to any means to bring up their case.
