Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
Pickedd up some chicken tikka massala at her new place on Wednesday last week. Since there's always a pot of rice on the go at our place, I decided to just get the chicken tikka without rice so paid 70 baht instead of 50. I must say, she certainly didn't skimp on the amount, giving me enough to last for two meals.
I don't often eat chicken tikka because there are other Indian dishes which I find more interesting, so I can't really compare hers to others, but it was nonetheless very tasty so I'll definitely be buying from her again.

The place where she is has no charm.Itook my own plastic container and took it to a bar on soi 80 to eat
Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
Yes, you're right. I also ordered mine as a takeaway, and will do so again whenever I'm in the mood for some of her chicken tikka.

Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
This Chicken Tikka Masala place is not far from my home, but we've never tried it yet. When asked what food we would like tonight, my son and I agreed that we would like to give this place a go for a take away. Mrs BB is insistent that if we don't order half a day in advance, it won't be possible. is this right please?
I'd always imagined a huge vat of the stuff constantly on the boil or whatever.
If she's right, I'm not going to play those stupid games - will try something elsewhere.
FFS, I can go to Shiva (just as close) and order any Indian dish I fancy (on the menu or not) and I will have it, freshly cooked within 15 minutes.

You're right. Wife's wrong. Gloat away
She has a rice cooker full of the stuff, always ready to go. It's a very basic establishment. Don't expect much. You get a bag of the stuff for ~70 baht, IIRC.

Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
Hi BB
A 70 baht bag is ample for one person if they have a fairly big appetite. I actually get two meals out of one bag.
The only downside is that I find that most Indian food just doesn't go well with your typical rice cooker rice so next time I order I'll pick up a box of yellow rice at the food court down the road from your place. A good helping of tasty yellow rice for 15 baht from a stall very near to the one selling Indian food.
For the record, the amount of chicken tikka you get from the place down the road is at least twice as much as you get from the Indian food stall at the food court, and I would say it is just as good.
Also, from what I have seen, there's no need to pre-order from the lady down the road.

Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
As there is so much interest in this lady’s food she shud probably be on a different thread as she is not in the Big C food court anymore.
For anyone like us who doesn’t know. Don’t skip breakfast and lunch intending to look for her place on Saturday. We were there about 4;30 PM and it was locked up tighter than a Kiwi sheep and no hours are posted but a lady across the road said, “it is closed because it is Saturday.” But to find it, take Soi 88 west across the rail road tracks and keep going agter Soi 88 bends to the left and becomes Soi Son Khiao, its almost to Soi 94 and on the right immediately after a big school.
To find it by going west across the RR tracks on Soi 94, turn right when Soi 94 bumps against a T intersection. In a short distance there will be a car wash on the right and the tika masala on the left. If you come to the school you have overshot but will see it by looking backward over your left shoulder. Its right next to the near side of the school.

Don't know about the shop but she always closed on a Saturday when she was at Soi 88 food court.

Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
I guess that she has her reasons, but I have to ask: why the hell would you be closed on a Saturday, when there is likely to be many more people out and about?Pagey wrote:Don't know about the shop but she always closed on a Saturday when she was at Soi 88 food court.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
Re: 'Big C food court/plaza'
The spaghetti man outside the little Tesco at the Baan Khun Pau (spelling?) food court closes on a Saturday also.
