Getting Searched Last Night by the Police.

FYI,
Last night at 22:15 I was stopped by the police at a checkpoint.

I will not say exactly where. Anyone who lives in HH soon knows about the late night checkpoints on small Sois running north and south round the Soi 94/88 area.

Flashlight in my face.
They were looking for drunk drivers, but seeing how I don't drink, no problem.
I was wearing a helmet like I always do.
He asked me where I was going and I said "Home" without asking where that was.
Then the cop asked me to open my waist pack.
I have been through many of these checkpoints but this was a new experence for me to get searched.
So anyway, I was thinking he wanted to see my drivers license.
But he was not interested in that. Never looked at it.
Or my registration or insurance. Or if I owned my scooter.
He poked around my bag looking for maybe drugs?
Made me unzip both compartments on my pack.
Then sent me on my way.

I am sure many here have been searched?

Was this an official checkpoint or a tea money collection point (unofficial i.e. no official markings or senior officer)?

I've been stopped at 2 unofficial points recently, and exaggerate my movement so they can see me directing my dash cams straight at them. Both times I received a grunt and got waved on.

There's actually been a Thai guy who has gone viral in the last few days humiliating unofficial police checks in the last week, to the extent the police eventually gave up and moved on.

I have a brilliant idea.

Vote me for police commander and I will make sure the whole world is informed via social media, so they can get it on their phones instantly, exactly where all police checkpoints are at any given time. Google earth, twitter, Facebook etc. That way everybody from not wearing a helmet to planning a terrorist attack can avoid said checkpoints. I also will not allow stopping of Thai or non Thai people as it is racist.

The Police in Scotland agree that your idea is brilliant. They publish where their mobile speed cameras are going to be set up in the following week. Motorist still get caught,strange but true.

I have a lot of respect for the Scots last night - one of the few teams in recent years to actually play football against England.
