Does anyone care about the Super Bowl?

Yes it seems American football is somewhat of an oddity here, any place to view this event? Haven't missed one yet, and no I'm not that old![/b]

I think you will struggle to find anywhere showing the Super bowl, all the satellite sports channels seem to be European biased.

I love American Football. Played in the first ever UK Team. Never missed a Super Bowl until I came to Thailand.

ExpatSally (GY?) - You might find the highlights on one of the cable sites. Time makes it almost impossible to find a bar showing it live that early in the morning.

Any Americans out there have access to the game and want some company? I'll bring some beer and snacks.

Kickoff is usually around 3:30 p.m. out here on the West Coast which would make it 6:30 in the morning over there--figure 4 hours for the game and associated festivities.

A couple of years ago we were in Krabi and talked a resturaunt/bar into finding the late divisional playoffs for us on their TV. Breakfast, bloody maries, football on the beach --it doesn't get much better.

There is an opportunity out there if someone takes it.

Sport Villa had a Superbowl party last year, and judging by the large number of north americans (mostly Canadians) staying there at the moment, I'd guess they'll be having another one this year.

I was interested up till Sun morning when the Eagles blew it, but I'll still be trying to find somewhere to watch it. Kick off here will be around 7am.

This in reply to JD as well - Supersport (UBC channel 35) are definitely screening it live from 6 am on Monday 5th February. As far as any bar showing it, I think they probably feel it's not worth it at that time in the morning, expecially with the probability of hassle from the MIB. My suggestion is for those who want to have a Super Bowl party is for them to get together at a private house which has UBC, or get a group together to approach one of the bars.

I bet they were British Champions.

They obviously learnt a lesson from the Americans with their World Series - funny how the Americans always win the World Series.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Expatsally, as you head out of town south on the main road, it’s a hotel on the right just before you get to the flyover. They have a restaurant with a big TV next to the pool that’s open to non-residents. I’m sure there’s someone staying there who posts on here, so maybe they can find out about the Super Bowl for you.
And just ignore us Brits making jokes about your admittedly strange sports.

American Football is an extremely strategic competition, coupled with the speed it's played at and the bone-crunching tackles, it makes it a true sporting contest.
But for me the one single thing that gives it credibility is the humungous sized popcorn vats that the crowd hold lovingly to their chests.

Probably the most remembered and talked about moment from the Super Bowl in recent times would be the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction"
