12.30 lunchtime today, house behind the Tiger Bar went up in flames.
Fire gutted second storey and damaged adjoining properties.
Unconfirmed rumour that an invalid inside the property was unable to escape and died as a consequence.
Fire brigade were very prompt on the scene, but badly need new hoses..
