Hi there you lot.
It seems the rainy-season has come early this year..?
I would like to fit 5m of rain guttering to by balcony roof, but do not know of the cost per metre, or
if like any services here..there are good shops/fitters & maybe ones to avoid..??
Can any of you good folk here recommend any firms that do this work? and can advise me on the price of this guttering? (maybe 5metre is a small order, so may have a higher price?).
Any info would be welcome on this..thanks now..
Windsor, the vinyl door/window people also make rain gutters in white and now brown vinyl. We've had some for five years now in direct sun and they're performing well. I forget the cost though but when the wife wakes up I'll ask her and post if she remembers. Their web site is below and the contact for Hua Hin, but in Thai only. The place seems clear from their email address. Pete
There is a small gutter shop at soi 112, maybe 300m from Petchakasem on left side. A very nice and friendly couple, who even do small jobs. price around 200THB per meter.
Just got a sleepy comment from the wife about Windsor. She seems to recall about 700 for the white and 1,000 for the brown.
My only comment about the metal galvanized gutters is that any paint will fall off and leave you with a metal coloured gutter. That is unless they've come up with some super coating that adheres properly to galvanized. I've seen very shiny metal gutters a well but don't know if stainless or some type of aluminum. The baked on enamel type of metal downspouts we have in the west I've never seen here. Pete

Yes, you can buy stainless steel guttering and down pipe. I have no idea on the price difference, as have only used it in the north.
The galvanised, not only guttering, needs to be either treated with a mild acid, or left to weather for a year or so before painting it. Have not seen the PVC type here, but if it has some UV stabilizer in it should be ok.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
We had a quote about two years ago and the wanted 12,000 to do the whole house, and if my memory serves me correctly, the stainless steel was roughly double that. In the end we decided not to bother though because we felt it's better letting all the run off water disperse equally rather than having all of it draining in just on or two areas.

The above I can 100% recommend as they have done 2 houses for me and also for some friends. Their price was also good. Also suggest you do not paint but keep galvanized as is.

Why not paint. Ours is painted to match the rest of the house and that was 12 years ago. Still good.
At a previous new house the developer painted the guttering and it neded painting some 4 years later. It was not in very bad condition but colour etc etc did not look great. When I came to build my first house I spoke to three engineering friends about what type of paint to use and they were shocked and said just leave the guttering in its original galvanized
state. It will weather well and you will never have to do anything with it.
The cost of painting was quite high and they were right. Both houses look great and fit in well with the house tiles. One silver covered and the other a greenish colour. Houses about 350 sq mts. So looks good and saved cash
