You still wearing your bedsocks, Sarge? Here's something that'll make you chilly. I saw a girl walking through central HH today in only a bikini & flip flops. Apart from the decency issue (don't let me get started ... :cuss: ), how was she not cold? Do we get thinner blood after we've been living in LoS for a while? Tourists don't seem to be noticing it :?

Dawn,

Can you put this thread in to perspective please? Exactly how low are the lows there at the moment? Is there any chance of ice for example?

I look at the Hua Hin weather (doesn't work on my work PC, so I can't see it at the moment), and I've not seen temperatures fall below the mid 20s - is this wrong?

I've always said that if I ever felt cold in Thailand, I'd ask for my money back.

Although I'm on warfarin which thins the blood I am suffering

Went looking for a bobble hat at 5am this morning

Think it depends also how long you've lived here

For me anything below 25 degrees (C that is) is cold

Khon Kaen at times means socks and a balaclava and that is in bed!!!!

Who would have thought a Pennines Yorkshireman would cringe and shiver to this extent????

About 24ish in the day, but it feels a lot colder at night, not sure what nocturnal temps are. But that's the point I was making - those of us that live here seem to be feeling it, while tourists aren't. Maybe chillies thin the blood?

Dawn, the girl you saw in the bikini must have been from Scandinavia;all the girls I know in Europe from that part of the world have been complaining all winter about the lack of snow and ice.Since I spend my time here fixing 747's, and Luxembourg doesn't have a hanger big enough to get one in, this is not something I have particularly missed.
Please keep us all informed on the weather situation, as I will be back in Thailand in a few weeks and I need to know whether to bring my two expedition rated jackets, which I sometimes have had to wear at the same time here when working in the early hours of the morning!

BB, these high pressure things swing down here from China and cause a lot of wind and cold for a few days, then slowly erodes. I'm up at 0400 this morning in Pattaya and it feels relatively warm, compared to the last week or so. Probably about 21 C right now.

It was down to about 17C here a few days ago in the morning and I think I saw HH listed at about the same or a degree lower. Issan was down to 9C and the north near Chiang Mai about 11C. Warnings of fog and frost on mountain tops in both those areas.

As each year, we have about 5 weeks of this left and then we will be in the oven again, unless global climate changes has really screwed things up? Pete

Yes dawn still wearing socks and 2 duvets and mrs sarge is still a cuddling (i am putting it down against her sex allowance for the year) that will save energy later in the year plus i can catch up on the kip i am not getting now  :D :D
It was a little warmer last night thank god but as with buksi i have slowed down on the old Honda wave to a max of 10 kmph because the automatic instant air con is set to low and i cannot adjust it  :D :D

In 9 years i can say i have not experienced anything like it not even close
But my sense of humour is still unaffected so i reckon i will survive :? :?

Now this female in a bikini i reckon as already surmised was scandinavian and was looking for some stinging nettles to thrash herself with having just come out of a sauna apparently they do this then frolic in the snow back home how old do you reckon she was dawn
If this becomes common here i will have to leave cos it will be to cold for me and i will have lost my sense of humour by then
