Tirumph currently have 2 factories here, in Chonburi (Amata Nakorn). A 3 rd factory is in construction now.prcscct wrote:You know, Triumph MC has a factory here in Thailand. There was a big splash about it opening with in insert magazine in the Bangkok Post some months ago. I think the factory is in the Chonburi area.
I wonder if this particular bike was made there? Pete
PS: Here's a link with some comments about Triumph, Thailand.

They fabricate nealry all of the frames, tanks, swinging arms and plastic bits here in Thailand. They paint here and ship back to UK.
However, they assemble the 2 cylinder engines and bikes here complete.
I'm infomred (from within the factory) that the quality of the bikes assembled here, si far superior to those assembled in Hinkley. The paintwork is outstanding.
Finished bikes are exported to Hinkley and to Triumph US.
The Rocket is made in UK, the tank, mudguards, panels etc... are all made here for sure. I think (but am not sure), that the frame etc... also is from Thailand.
I love the new triumphs (exception below), they are surely becoming a bike to be reckoned with.
Sorry, but I think the Rocket is the ugliest bike they've ever made (in any incarnation). Its a marketing exercise, aimed squarely at the US market, and I have no doubt Triumph will reap the reward of this carefully executed exercise.
Good luck to them, and best of luck with the expansion plans in Thailand
