Are you saying you took a course of action based on something someone you don't know said on the internet, rather than speaking to a professional / solicitor etc ?
You posted the following last August, what is it about an Indian guy ??
PS: If it's relevant to you I'm as white as the driven snow, but do have quite a nice tan at the moment![]()
BurgerNot in this topic but there is an indian guy i see a lot on this forum who works in one of the local property shops and has real english. People assume he is a foreigner on here and i notice he leads astray a lot of people.
No offence intended at indians but just at him for leading people like that.
different interests.
For the Brave I think.
Burger, as a Prop Developer you would say that, come on busier now than 3 years ago, 18 month's ago it was litterally standing room only in the Realty Agents anywhere in Hua Hin or Thailand for that matter.
The sun has stopped shining FOR NOW.
HOUSE SALES ARE SLOW OR STAGNANT.
Hopefully it will pick up, the housing market has a knock on effect for all in Thailand.
Bearhug,
What I said was the following, which is true.
As I've said before, the buyers are people who walk through the estate agents doors, not the doom merchants on here.
So there's no gain in me or others trying to 'talk it up' on here, makes no difference.

Can't speak for others though, the estate agents tell me they're busy, but it's up to you whether you believe it or not, I couldn't care less either way. There's been more veiwings and sales in the last two months than I can remember in any other period in the last two years.

All the "doomsayers" on here do is try to give a balanced view that life in Thailand is not always as rosy here as the estate agents make out (unless you're a millionaire).
That said, it is most of the time especially on Friday

Agree with you there Buksi all businesses have the old tinted glasses, but I was referring to the one's on here who say that sales have stopped, you're gonna get your house taken away by the government, prices are dropping etc etc.
Absolute bull. They first started a thread on it 2 years ago this May!!

I agree it has led to an increase in speculation from the Doom and Gloom Merchant's that the end is nigh.Burger wrote:Bearhug,

I do not believe for one moment that the Thai Authoritie's will reposes your home, unfortunately the doom merchant's tend to forget that the housing market bring's in the good time's for many, Thai and ExPat.
I still say and stand by it that where many (Realty House's) were litterally hiring anyone that walked through the door to satisfy the demand, now they are standing around in their Office's/Shops waiting for someone to open the door and show some interest.
Lets face it 3 years ago there were approx 5/6 Realty Office's now there are more outlets than 7/11.
Hope it works out for them and they can ride the bad time's.
Personally I would like to see some kind of planning criteria, Palms Hills used to be a lovely site, now its a mix of designs, even the roof of each dwelling are not uniform, as a leyman I would have thought the color would have been green, or is that just too obvious?

i agree with what you say about palm hills why did they not impose a scheme as it seems now they are building any design, the houses can be different in shape and sizes but they should retain common key features i think ! otherwise it will just look like miss match....

get in now, while the blood is still wet on the pavement.
I have been advised that the best time to buy, is during times of depression, uncertainty, and when times look bad. everyone seems to be selling now, which drives the prices down. I think of it as a good time to buy now. when things get better,, which they eventually will, a democraticly elected government, an end to the violence, and a re- surgence in tourism again will only bring prices back up again. back in the 80's , everyone was selling in southern california, because the defense industry had dried up after winning the cold war. now those properties are worth 5 times as much as before. So I think the best strategy is to buy now, and hold and wait. I think one must be prepared to wait it out at least 5 yeas or so. but first find a place where you can hang out for 5 years and enjoy it yourself.

I apply the same philosophy...hang in there and the market will turn around...the election should be at the end of the year here...vincent chang wrote:I have been advised that the best time to buy, is during times of depression, uncertainty, and when times look bad. everyone seems to be selling now, which drives the prices down. Read these posts to see how Burger has been caught out again, this is one of the few post where his side kick or other name has not appeared g.tott.
You can see the mis-information though.

I have a house in Hua hin and I'm thinking about buying a condo to rent out. Just want to know if prices for condos are depressed at the moment ? Are there bargains to be had ? I'll only buy if there are deals on the table but I haven't done much research on condos so any advice would be helpful...
