Butterfly Rock

Post by Lev »

For those looking for the party check out Butterfly Rock on Soi Sarawat (Hot Pot) with regular theme nights and events.

They also have English commentary on sporting events shown on 4 plasma screens.

More info can be read here: Butterfly Rock

Interesting name for a place, keeps one guessing? Does it refer to music like Crocodile Rock, or a real rock where species of butterflies swarm, or a place to go and discretely butterfly? Perhaps all three? :D  Pete

I think this is one that should sussed out before committing yourself to a Christmas Eve scenario. I have mixed views/feelings whatever about Butterfly Rock. It was the only waterin hole showing a match that I particularly wanted to see not so long ago. Now at 6.00pm I entered its hallowed walls. The interior resembled Dixons with wall to wall tellys and each telly showing something different. No problem, all I was interested in was my match so I ordered a beer and settled in. However the off screen entertainment, being provided by the management (who appeared to be the bars best customers) was competing rather loudly with the on screen entertainment and winning. However the fact that the Management were so distracted appeared to give the female floor staff license to do what they wanted. Que the noise(??music??) & dancing.Bring on the ear plugs. Anyhow to each their own. All things equal it turned out a completly barmy evening which despite my reservations, I was just getting into when my GF arrived & armed with her now famous Antartic Stare brought my participation to an abrubt end. Bottom line, check it out first. Its a fine place & will suit some.Tip..No need to bring herself. You dont bring apples to an orchard. Whatever turns you on.:cheers:Doc

Yes good bar a little off the beaten track without transport. Three huge plasmas and some nice friendly staff. Good live band on Fridays I believe. If I were to critisies a little bit on the small size and perhaps because it's new a little sterile. Not like so many bars in HH where you have to wash your hands in a bucket or keep your foot against the door in you are caught out for a number 2 .

"The interior resembled Dixons with wall to wall tellys" Perfect!!

and yes the music is too loud, the manager (who I have never seen sober) loves his music!

The owners have obviously spent money and are intent on giving the punter value and a nice air-con bar, but for me there is something missing? I can't explain but it just doesnt quite hit the spot

hello

this bar is disappointing. what a service. Went there for a bier and a escort-lady came and just ask "whisky for me?", no hello or whatever, then i said "cha cha" she went a way and never came back. I think sometimes thy mean farangs are just golddonkeys !!

As someone said in another post "everyone to their own" meaning everyone has different tastes and the taste seems to differ when they come from Europe to Asia.

For me personally I have never noticed any of the things written above and service has always been spot on with one of the quickest cashiers in Hua Hin.

My experience has been that is is clean and comfortable and sometimes it is a welcomed change to get out from the dirty streets into a clean air-conned environment and unlike many bars elsewhere they don't stick on 20 Baht on every drink to pay for it which is the standard practice in the seafront area of town and at other resorts in Thailand.

As for the owners and management I have found them to be among the most friendly in Hua Hin and at least make the effort to ensure that a manager is in situ all the time.

The regular cashier is on the ball so never a problem with bills either and the electronic till is a really useful addition. More bars should use them.

Now hang on, here! I am sure the escort-lady went to prepare the two teas (cha cha) the golddonkey ordered.

Laudable alacrity, in truth.

9 days at the butterfly bar.

I was in town recently from march 1st to the 12th, and hung out at the butterfly simply because it has the best air conditioned sports bar in town. there is a good pool table, and most of the staff is nice. I did get hustled for a few lady drinks at first, but gladly paid to be able to have a chat with their new bartender, cashier, *name deleted*. I was told there were short time rooms available upstairs, but did not see anyone partake during the whole time I was there. I think the staff and managment had only taken over the place for a few weeks by the time I got there. they have a nice band on fridays and some theme nights. I think the cashier is the best looking , best dressed girl in hua hin. but then hua hin is pretty limited.
