I was looking to buy an item yesterday, and reading the "small print" it states that: "this item ships from overseas".
It also stated that about 1 month delivery time. Now what happens if firstly, the item is not correct or damaged, and secondly, the Thai Customs decide that the item warrants some donation to their Christmas fund? Not having proceeded with it I do not know if it ships via Lazada, or direct. Anyone?

I've had a few items shipped from overseas. Never been hit by customs ...................... yet.

Delivery times have always been about half of what they quote.

Depends on the value of the goods and declaration but like BB, if the goods are coming from China using China Post the most I have been charged is 7 Baht (as mentioned earlier this might be a customs clearance fee or it might not be ...who knows?)

Erm, yes I also have had many things from overseas, but what I was asking is items ordered from Lazada with the attached comments.

Two things that I have been charged Customs duty on, not from Lazada, were: a new grid for the swimming pool chlorinator from Australia, and a small model tractor FFS, also sent from Australia. I regularly get parts from the UK for the mongrel Land Rover and have never been charged Customs duty. I also regularly get books, mostly from Abe in the UK, and also never had to pay.

I recently bought a "mermaid tail" swimsuit for my granddaughter, also from Australia, which I expected to have to pay duty on, but nothing was required.

Items sent by China Post seem to exempt, regardless of what the item is. :?

I am not sure if it will apply but there are free trade agreements in place for certain items between Australia and Thailand likewise under ASEAN/China agreements. It may be worth looking into as it may make some items duty exempt. Perhaps someone with some current knowledge may be able to advise further.

After many a hem and haw I finally got my refund from Lazada. After much lying, prevaricating and initially absolutely refusing to refund me, the money now is in the bank.

I had to write to the head honcho of Thailand Lazada before I got my money back. He never replied my letter, which might not be outrageously impolite but just be the way they do things.

I would’ve taken them to court had they not paid me. And just for the hell of it I would’ve used a seriously expensive lawyer. Lazada would’ve paid his fees as well.

Will I buy again from Lazada? Yes, when it really is to my advantage to buy from them. When I am sure I do not get the same thing more easily and/or cheaply from AliExpress, eBay, locally in HH or from one of the other net stores in Thailand.

I ordered from Lazada my Phillips lightening connector dock speaker / clock, it shipped from South Korea and was here in a week as they sent it express shipping a service similar to FEDEX. I also ordered a HDMI splitter which shipped from Hong Kong, that went parcel post and took about 6 weeks. No customs issued on items from abroad if purchased from Lazada as far as I can tell.

Noob question here.
If I sign up to Lazada Thailand, can I also order from Lazada Malaysia?

Also, how do you think that Shopee compares to Lazada?

....to add to the above. The wife raves about JD Central. If you haven't looked at them when searching for items it may be a good idea. She states selection, ease of ordering and very fast delivery as her primary reasons.

No idea about Malaysia.

However, how does Shopee compare? I've used Shopee once, hated the antiquated ordering, and unlikely to use them again. I had to scan proof of payment and send to them, then wait for what seemed an eternity to receive acceptance of my order. Very tail wagging the dog.

I use Lazada on a regular basis. Normally have a good service, quick delivery etc. One thing that really racks is the progress reporting when checking the status. This is my latest gripe.

For reference.
09 Aug 2019 - 23:52 Package has arrived in Thailand.
09 Aug 2019 - 21:52 Package is on the way to Thailand.
09 Aug 2019 - 20:44 Package has passed customs clearance and will be delivered shortly.
07 Aug 2019 - 13:02 Kerry has picked up your package and it's on the way!
07 Aug 2019 - 09:33 Package was received at the warehouse.
03 Aug 2019 - 17:41 Your package has been packed and is being handed over to a logistics partner.
03 Aug 2019 - 13:19 Your order has been successfully verified.

07 Aug 2019 - 09.33 Package was received at the warehouse.
07 Aug 2019 - 13:02 Kerry has picked up your package and it's on the way! Great it's on it's way..... then we get!!!

How is it possible that if Kerry picked up my package on 07 Aug 2019 when it only arrived in Thailand on 09 Aug 2019

It is still in transit 555

Kerry used to phone or send a SMS when about to deliver. But the last few times they just show up at the house. And the last few times we weren't in. Including yesterday. We were out shopping when I got a phone call so pulled over just outside Kerry BeQuik, as it happened. The call was from the Kerry man outside our house.

Kerry's tracking isn't so good either. According to that my package was out for delivery on Friday, when we were home all day. But no show. And then Saturday as described above. Maybe it'll arrive on Tuesday.

We recently had a couple of Lazada COD deliveries by post. They phoned to check we would be in first. Much better.

Thank you for the feedback.
I am a bit concerned about using JD, especially if the owners start killing protesters again at the weekend.
IN the meantime, my original question stands.
If I am signed up to Lazada Thailand, can I also order from Lazada Malaysia.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the delivery address then has to be in Malaysia.

I'm working in Borneo just now, I have used Lazada many times. I think I had to change the location...
Never had a problem here in Malaysia.

Edit: did you mean order from Malaysia and delivered to Thailand? Not sure if that would work.
