England's decision to exclude prop Mako Vunipola as a precautionary measure against coronavirus was "unnecessary", says Public Health England (PHE).
Vunipola was stood down for England's Six Nations match with Wales after recently travelling through Hong Kong.
The prop has trained with Saracens this week and will start against Leicester in the Premiership on Saturday.
"PHE current guidance on coronavirus is clear on when self-isolation is necessary," a PHE tweet said.
"Earlier this week the RFU asked a player, having returned from travel overseas, to not attend the camp to avoid the risk of spread, which was not necessary as he was not displaying any symptoms.
"The RFU accept this and this clarification."
Having said that, the RFU were perfectly entitled to take a more cautious approach, and I think the whole thing is in danger of being blown out of proportion.

Red card Tuilangi. Ludicrous.
BS! Shoulder charge made direct contact with the head - Card, simples. Some absolute disgraceful and cynical play from England (your Captain especially) [EDIT] As Our Tom would say, "It's not Unusual"! . Yellow cards galore deserved and not given. Yet again poor refereeing (do they understand offside?), which I'm getting tired of. Granted, the Lillywhites deserved the win overall, but I'm disappointed in the way it was.
Will be pleased to see Italy stuff you!

Can't agree. Tuilangi went to tackle a guy running for the line, but the guy got tackled and was on his way down. Nothing he could do about it.
I think the game has gone too far in its concern for head injuries. Perhaps we should all wear helmets, have huddles instead of scrums, make blocking legal and have cheerleaders. Or allow touch tackles only. Grown-up tag.
^^Yes, I missed that during the game. Can't imagine what he was thinking - infantile attempted wind-up presumably. Totally out of order. Bit surprised to see AWJ complaining about it in a press conference, mind, there must be more appropriate ways to sort out that sort of behaviour than "Please sir, Marler touched my willy!"

To be honest I'm very surprised at that also - not something I would expect from AWJ, although he was obviously completely gutted at the loss (as am I.... )

Typical - looking for the 'smallest' excuse
I think it was because of the way the Welsh were playing. He needed to make sure it wasn't the ladies team.
Oh steady on there sir!! There is next year....... and is "Big Boy" some sort of "self-motivation" ?!

I liked Gareth Thomas`s post match discussion, he said along the lines of "if that was allowed I`d still be playing"
