Cracking win for Scotland today - France not at their best. Any complaints for the red card this time guys....?! Interesting to hear all pundits today agreed with the "Muppet Tuilagi" Red Card... Those pundits being English, Irish. Welsh, Scottish.... hmmm. Eddie Jones.... hmmm...(TW@T).

Both cards deserved.

Very feisty game the Scotland-France! Scotland deserved winners but would have been a different story if dumbass hadn't thrown a punch I reckon. Really good game for the neutral!

I should add that, after watching a fair bit of ruggers recently, footballers need to be ashamed of their wet flannel antics.

Bring back a bit more contact in football, I say!

Six Nations: France v Ireland Postponed Because of Coronavirus Concerns

"Saturday's match between France and Ireland is the latest Six Nations fixture to be postponed because of concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.
The decision follows earlier steps to postpone the Ireland v Italy and Italy v England fixtures.
England lead the table on points difference from France, who failed in their Grand Slam bid with defeat by Scotland on Sunday.
As it stands, Wales' match against Scotland will go ahead on 14 March"

Well, serious allegation, but if found to be true Nick Haining needs to be suitably punished. Gouging truly is one of the more heinous offences in Rugby. As such, Haining could be looking at a lengthy ban: -

Contact with the eyes
- Lower end: up to 12-week ban.
- Mid range: up to 18-week ban.
- Top end: greater than 24-week ban.

Contact with the eye area
- Lower end: up to 4-week ban.
- Mid range: up to 8-week ban.
- Top end: greater than 12-week ban.

France Make Gouge Claim

"France have made a shock gouging claim against Scotland in the wake of their defeat at Murrayfield on Sunday.

Team manager Raphael Ibanez has asked the Six Nations to investigate the allegation Scotland star Nick Haining gouged Mohamed Haouas shortly before the French prop was sent off for punching Jamie Ritchie in the 37th minute.

The red card blew apart France's hopes of a Grand Slam as they went on to lose 28-17.

"We have found some quite revealing images that I have transferred to the disciplinary commission," Ibanez told a press conference."

England's Joe Marler and Courtney Lawes Cited After Wales Game

"Prop Marler, 29, grabbed Alun Wyn Jones' genitals during the first half at Twickenham, with the Wales captain calling for action after the match.
Lock Lawes, 31, was cited for a dangerous tackle during his side's 33-30 victory.
The pair will appear before a disciplinary hearing in Dublin on Thursday.

The decisions were made by an independent citing commissioner.

England centre Manu Tuilagi will also be at Thursday's hearing following his red card for a high tackle late in the fixture.
Marler could be in for a long lay-off, with four levels of punishment length under World Rugby rules.
The shortest ban for "grabbing, twisting or squeezing the genitals" is 12 weeks, with a top-end level of 24 weeks or more, up to a maximum of 208."

Can't say I agree with AWJ's comments in the post-match interview - should have be done differently. However, with the amount of debate and clear evidence of the "event" on social media, the citing commissioner hardly had much of a choice. An expensive act of stupidity by Marler - it is very clearly against the rules of the game.

Ban-wise for the dangerous tackle is very much dependant on the tackle - i.e. high, tackling with arms (shoulder), contact with head etc., etc.

OMG, I remember when rugby was a man's game, and you didn't go running to your mum with every little scratch, or somebody touched your willie. I thought that kind of thing was reserved for wendyball's prima donnas.

Obviously in anticipation of defeat, Wales employed a bunch of nit pickers to go inch by inch through the video tape. FFS, its rugby - it happens. As for complaining about an accidental foul tackle that gifted the Welsh 14 points :?

And as for France's, "We have found some quite revealing images" - did they think of that themselves, or have the Welsh copied?

I honestly thought rugby was bigger than that. Bad show! Rugby has dropped in my estimation, big time.

Not a big follower of the out of shape ballgame but I also have noticed recently a lot more whingeing by players and managers alike. I'm guessing there's a lot more money and bonuses at stake now.

Curious that it's only the losing teams that have done the citing. Those grapes sure must be sour!

And of course this could easily backfire, as you can bet your sweet life that every minute of the next few France and Wales games are going to be picked apart with a fine-toothed comb.

Zero to do with the losing teams - it's an Independant Citing Commissioner and a mound of video evidence (not sure about the gouging incident though). As for the "whinging", as I've said several times, I'm not happy with what has been said by AWJ and the way it was handled afterwards - it should have been left solely to the citing commissioner. As for Eddie Jones and his constant "whinging", well........

You mean the equivalent of Wendyball's VAR then? The sport has gone scores of years without, now it is turning the game into a complete mockery. Funny how they only look at the losing teams.

So the Welsh and French were angels throughout? We both know that didn't happen.
