Re: Activities During Lockdown
My daughter asked me yesterday if I'd like to play a game of Monopoly with her and the kids via video call. I said that as much as I love my grandchildren, I trust them as far as I can throw them. No double sixes for Granddad. I might be desperate enough in a couple of weeks.
The other option was Jenga, but that would be tricky...
Back to Game of Thrones. (And I've just downloaded all 160-odd episodes of West Wing. )

Didn't really get into Game of Thrones, but really did enjoy The West Wing - may have to go for a repeat viewing! Not seen Succession - will take a look

So has anyone got some bright ideas, home inventions to save us all?
Becoming self-subsistent, developing cures or terraforming Mars...... There must be some hairbrained ideas out there!!

I don't know much about whisky, only drink it but I have a friend, who I think, knows a lot. I've been to his place for his whisky tasting evenings and we always drink from a narrow glass, not the wide one. If you are talking about that. He says, the smell is also very important. Here he is sniffing a sample from his own cask, maturing in a monastery here in Finland.

If you were in it, someone would probably do that for you.
The books are better than the series, but I read a lot of fantasy. I was brought up on Tolkien from age 10. Anything with dragons, elves, swords and a bit of magic is fine by me!

Far from a connoisseur BG, but I do enjoy a single malt (when I can afford it!) - very interesting on the narrow glass, can't say I've heard that before.Bamboo Grove wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 8:57 pm I don't know much about whisky, only drink it but I have a friend, who I think, knows a lot. Lockdown Recipes
Well, Thailand not in "lockdown" yet, but it's likely coming..... Many other countries however already are. Sad to say, but things will get worse before they get better.
So.... Simple recipes using what you have in the cupboards - tinned veg, fruit etc. How to make bread without yeast, substitute for milk/eggs?
Certainly some recipes for flatbread etc. around, but what else?
