Safety deposit boxes . . .

Post by smiles »

. . . . are they easily available with checking or savings accounts opened at a Thai bank?

Sooner or later next year I will be obliged to open an account (hopefully being in Thailand under a O-A 12 month visa ~ annualy renewable) to fullfill the "renewable" part. At the same time I think it's not a bad idea to take all potential harm out of leaving Very Imporant Documents (VID) at whatever home we end up renting long term.

Room safes can be gotten into with some extra effort, and although they are probably better than hiding them away taped to back of the toilet flusher (look at the trouble that got Michael Corleone into), or stuffed into a mattress (same same the pee'd off Princess) . . . I think I'd feel better leaving VID's to the trust of a safety deposit box.

Easy to come by? Prices? Anyone any experience with this?

Cheers ...

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the Thai bank boys are neglecting a potential profit centre. I would've thought they'd be in there like ants in a Walkman (don't ask! )
