None of western countries were ready for a pandemic, it's a shame. A certain Trump said it's a hoax, a certain Boris minimised and now together they have more deaths than all Europe.

A devastating second peak of coronavirus cases this year is “very unlikely”, according to Professor Hugh Pennington.

Strange that there is no mention of Social Distancing?

Not really. The first addresses what can open. The second is just under 4 headings:
Curfew time,
No Mass Gatherings,
Inter provincial travel,
Border control.

Social Distancing doesn't come under any of those headings.
The 2 posters are only of 4 measures and not a complete picture.

Coronavirus: Mike Pence flouts rule on masks at hospital

US Vice-President Mike Pence has visited a top US hospital without wearing a mask, despite the medical centre's own rules that visitors should wear personal protective equipment.

Mr Pence appeared to be the only person present without a facial covering at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

In a deleted tweet, the clinic said the vice-president had been notified in advance of its policy requiring masks.

Mr Pence leads the White House coronavirus taskforce.

He defended his decision as necessary in order to meet with staff and patients.

The US government's own coronavirus-prevention advice is that people should wear face coverings "in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain".

Asked by a reporter on Tuesday to explain why he did not wear a mask, the vice-president said he and everyone around him are regularly tested for the coronavirus."When the CDC issued guidelines about wearing a mask, it was their recognition that people that may have the coronavirus could prevent the possibility of conveying the virus to someone else by wearing a mask," he said.

"And since I don't have the coronavirus, I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to be here, to be able to speak to these researchers, these incredible healthcare personnel, and look them in the eye and say thank you." Does he think the masks cover the eyes :banghead:

According to news website Axios, Mr Pence has never once worn a mask in public since the pandemic began while continuing to travel throughout the country.

An aide to Mr Pence was the first White House member to test positive for the virus in late March.

President Donald Trump has himself previously said he has no plans to wear a mask.

How do these bozos expect the general public to follow guidelines when their leaders do not!!

Don't we need the complete picture?
They usually come from the Govt so can this be relied upon - as there is plenty of false news about?

They were just reiterating what the 'emergency decree' covers.
Social distancing, wearing of masks, hand cleaning etc is part of preventative measures and was referenced in today's briefing. Common sense prevails. Do you need to have everything written in law?

It doesn't mention not to drink disinfectant but I guess it goes without saying.

Covid-19: Thailand's outbreak will be all over by June - world must wait till November
Figures from the Singapore University of Technology and Design suggest that Thailand's Covid-19 outbreak is already largely over.

But it will be mid-June until the kingdom gets the 100% all clear.

The Data Driven Innovation Laboratory connected to the university published figures for the end of Covid-19 itemising when 97%, 99% and 100% eradication would be reached.

For Thailand 97% had already passed on April 26th, 99% would be on May 7th and 100% on June 11th.

The UK was rated as 17th May, 29th May and 20th August.

The US was 15th May, 27th May and 5th of September.

The world as a whole was 30th May, 6th of June and 27th November.

Looking on Worldmeter, a good site for Convid stats it says that the Death count in Thai is 54, that seems VERY low, less than one days traffic accident deaths. You guys with Thai families , what do you hear? Do the people believe this number??

My wife doesn’t know anybody who has contracted Covid-19, let alone anybody dying from it, so whilst the numbers appear suspiciously low, they could be close to the truth.

The Thai Examiner has reported today that the Thai Govt passed an executive order late Wednesday mandating that all decrees that it had enacted to be continued until the end of May.
It has been published in the Royal Gazette
This also means that provincial governors who were set to introduce easing measures may be in jeopardy as it is unclear if they will continue to enjoy the autonomy that they had experienced so far.
See the Thai Examiner for the full details as I cannot attach!!
