I went through to the payment page page, and this is what is shown:

Delivery price has increased by 25฿. I've suspected this has been happening for a while, but if you go back to check, the initial page has updated to 45฿.

I have suspected this has been happening for a while, but the first time I remembered to record it step by step.

Yes, I often find free shipping, especially on more expensive items (probably built into the cost anyway). I don't have a problem with paying shipping - it isn't free to the seller, as the post and packing has to be paid for. However, tricking customers with low shipping costs, and then sneakily upping the cost by 25฿ is very underhand. OK, 25฿ isn't going to break the bank, but how many times each day do they add this 25฿?

I'm Incognito now so my browser is cleared regularly. Even clearing the browser, just compounds the lie. The low shipping cost will simply present itself again, but the true shipping cost will still be charged at the checkout.

There is no defence, this is blatant deceit by Lazada.

Actually what I bought was advertised at 325 Baht with a 30 Baht coupon and then it said purchases over 199 Baht, delivery was free, so what would have been 64 Baht was zero. I do find buying from Lazada something of an experience - not necessarily a good one, but they are convenient and often price competitive (with or without shipping fee). A summary of my invoice;

subtotal: THB 325.00
Shipping fee: THB 64.00
Discount: THB (94.00)
Total (VAT included):
THB 295.00

Its not browser related as this is the sort of crap I've been noticing with Lazada lately which is why I try to avoid it. I wanted to buy some eye drops which we can't get locally - item was about 80 baht, shipping fee 45 baht. I know it is pennies, but it is a piss-take when they previously offered free shopping on pretty much everything.

As far as I know, and according to Lazada, shipping fees are set at store level. In that case, it's the individual seller that sets the charges, not Lazada admin.

My latest gripe (I don't have many): Bought an item for 2,000 baht. Shipping was free but delivery was around 3 weeks.
Checking the detail of the item a couple of days later, and found that it has been reduced by 500 baht. Grrrrr!

Shipping fees depend also on the delivery address. In the first picture of Big Boy it is Bangkok, then it is Hua Hin. I also saw that after I log in the fee increases because of the address.

Thanks guys. Maybe it would have been more transparent had they referred me to a table, as opposed to misleading me with a meaningless figure.

Yes, delivery fee is area dependent - in initial product page the delivery fee is shown for Bangkok area - usually about ฿20 — in upper right you need to click “Change” after the given Bkk location that is shown and then enter your zip code to see delivery fee changed to your area.

Yes, delivery cost is set by the seller but that is not what is being discussed here. What is being discussed is fees that change at check-out page. Witch does happen too often. Plus shipping is somtimes charged on items that show a free shipping promotion. Even tho we always enter our proper zip code location we have too often had delivery charge screw ups by Lazada’s web site.

This has been gone over in big detail by Bukdida and myself on this page viewtopic.php?f=15&t=31796&start=60#p509269

Lazada needs constructive feedback from enuf people that they will hopefully give their website engineers a pinch in the ass to steer them onto this long ongoing problem

Bought my wife a new phone a couple of days ago. Savings compared to Market Village were about 20 to 25%, so it was a non-brainer. I could have got it even cheaper from Shopee, but having fallen foul of their antiquated check out procedures in the past, it was worth a few ฿ more to use Lazada.

Then the BIG surprise. I thought just as well buy a phone case at the same time - savings compared to MV were phenomenal - 80%+. I've always thought phone cases at MV were a rip off, but didn't realise how big that rip off was.

As much as I'd like to adopt Suua's proposal, I fear the only pain would be felt within my wallet.

Lazada predicts 35% rise in 2020 market
Thailand's e-commerce market is expected to surge 35% to 220 billion baht in value this year thanks to the online shopping trend, accelerated by months of lockdown, says e-commerce platform Lazada.

Lazada Thailand said during the lockdown from March to May, the number of new sellers joining its platform grew more than 75% and millions of new buyers came on board.

Some 90,000 new sellers joined and participated in Lazada's assistance package for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which offers no commission and no payment fees.

Lazada said from March to May, shoppers spent 30% more time than average on the platform.

Paradee Sinthawanarong, chief marketing officer of Lazada Thailand, said people's digital lifestyle and digitisation throughout the economy has taken hold, even after the lockdown has been lifted.

Overall e-commerce activities and online entertainment have been strengthened by the measures imposed during the crisis, she said.

For the Lazada platform in Thailand, the number of sellers and brands coming on board doubled in the first half this year, compared with the same period a year earlier.

Sports toys, outdoor play items, small kitchen appliances, furniture and exercise and fitness equipment are best-selling products that have increased sales by at least 250% to above 500% during the lockdown between March and May.

"Lazada operates e-commerce content and activities under the shoppertainment strategy that grows the consumer base beyond just transactions," Ms Paradee said.

Consumers can utilise the platform for live streaming, playing games or hunting for deals."

I've just had delivered from Laz a box of Rooibos tea bags. Price inc delivery charge 153 baht.

Exact same product at Tops 200 baht.

BTW it tastes great with a teaspoon of honey.
