And how are these people getting here? On what flights?
Myself and my daughter have been trying for weeks to get a flight out of the US to BKK. Every time we/she books a flight she is contacted to inform of the cancellation of the last leg to BKK. These are flights we're trying to book in July.
"Already arrived back in Thailand"? How?

According to CCSA hundreds of Thais are arriving daily. As I said yesterday, 2 flights will arrive from the USA tomorrow. You say they are telling untruths, but if people aren't arriving, who is going into quarantine for them to find the non-domestic infections from?

The flight from the US was clearly under utilised 2 days ago if less than 80 arrived back in Thailand. I guess there are seats for those willing to 'pay' for them.

[Edit] CCSA seem transparent to me (OK I'm not trying to book anything) regarding publication of repatriation flights.

Same here, have had multiple flights cancelled. On a facebook page dedicated to stranded foreigners all are saying flights have been cancelled, embassies ignorant.

If this is true it must be very "special" people

But I say BS :cuss: :banghead:

That's 2/2 saying the same thing. When you say 'ignorant' do you mean the Embassy is off handed about the matter, or they just aren't aware that the flight has been cancelled? Can you maybe speak to the Ambassador? I remember back in the day, the Thai Ambassador in the UK was very approachable.

Are all of these photos etc being shown daily by the CCSA little more than propaganda? What about the slogan, 'Leave no Thai behind'?

Very confusing.

Not about repatriation flights. But normal travel for the 50,000.

I would imagine that if most Governments are still advising against all non-essential travel to anywhere then insurance will not be forthcoming and flights won't happen.

You won't get travel insurance that ncludes cover for the cost of treatment for the virus from a UK insurance company.

Like Caller said, I mean't foreigners (me) coming back to Thailand. It seems a general "let's wait and see" from all official sources.

I addressed my emails to the ambassador but they all came back from underlings

Just speaking to my Thai daughter stuck in the US:
was talking to a group of Thai people who stuck here in us. They booked a flight back since March on Korean air going to bkk in 1 july

But her flight was cancelled yeasterday

BUT! Korean air does go to bkk but they formed her that Korean doesn’t transit any Thai passport holder

I was going to book a flight on ana air transit in Japan same flight as the other Thai girl booked 2months back

We got answers from airline that flight from japan to Thailand is ban!!

the flight the Thai government given us. Is the same flight that was cancelled but price is much higher! - almost 90,000 baht!

All the Thais I've spoken to here have been told by the embassy that they can't help.

Many of us very confused
Sounds to me that there is a massive money-making scam going on.

Saw this on the Bangkok Post:
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... -next-week
So perhaps something will happen or is happening. As usual you wonder where they get the figures from when there appears to be little guidance where to 'register' if needed.

I did suggest flights were available if you were prepared to 'pay' for them. This was not based on any evidence, but we're talking Thailand, and a leopard doesn't change his spots.

Somebody needs to tell the CCSA because they are advertising 3 or 4 repatriation flights from the US to Thailand before the end of June.

I'm maybe naive, but I assumed foreigners will be sharing flights with Thais. Despite the recent 'Thai only' statements, I don't think segregation has been introduced yet. I mentioned last night that I've seen reference to non-Thais already returning, but I'm sorry, I don't have a reference.

In all seriousness, I find it very disturbing that the Thai Government is feeding the Expat population a pile of lies in their daily briefs (3 times a week). If that information is incorrect, the entire brief loses integrity. It is clearly propaganda as opposed to fact.

:lach: I've been saying that all along but some on here blindly follow it all as gospel.

Green light for foreigners
The first group of foreigners to be allowed to enter Thailand will comprise business representatives, skilled workers, experts, people with Thai families, teachers, students and patients who agree to quarantine, according to the government.

Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), on Wednesday elaborated on the government's plan to allow foreign nationals back into the country. The plan was drafted by a sub-committee of CCSA.

Dr Taweesilp said most will be required to undergo 14 days of quarantine after their arrival.

The spokesman said about 50,000 foreigners are likely to visit the country under the new rules.

They include about 30,000 people expected to arrive for medical and wellness tourism.

Others include about 15,400 skilled workers and experts; 2,000 teachers, educational personnel and students; 2,000 foreigners with Thai families or with residences in Thailand; and 700 business people and investors.

More pie in the sky, where are they going to put 50,000 foreigners in quarantine, and who in their right mind would travel somewhere for medical tourism in the midst of a global pandemic?? They're smoking some strong shit up there in Bangkok govt offices.

I can only go by my experience, and those on the face book page farangs stranded. My 3 emails to the embassy have all been returned with a definite wait. Many falangs on the facebook page, in multiple countries are all saying they are getting no answers either. I think the Thai government has stated they will let in the 2,000 falangs married to Thais but they haven't stated when.

It has been a very well scripted lie, and yes, I believed them.

They have been:

- Openly publicising the flights,
- Showing photos of their Embassy staff in numerous locations preparing returnees for repatriation,
- Showing photos of returnees at multiple departure points and arrival airports,
- Losing dozens of non-existent returnees through lax airport security,
- Announcing returnees have contracted the virus.

What was there not to believe, and at what point did you see right through the lie please? I guess I have been very naive, and its all been filmed in a studio. I also believed the Americans sent a man to the Moon

The thing that is P'ing me off most about all of this is the amount of believable Fake News that is being bandied about.

When you understand the premise that a totalitarian state tells the masses what they want them to hear, the truth has nothing to do with it.

My daughter rang the Embassy yesterday. They couldn't advise her of any repatriation flights. All they could tell her was to fill in the registration form then wait for approval at such time she'd need to pay. Following that she would be advised when a flight becomes available.

She's due to ask USCIS for a further 30 day extension, which I'm sure she'll get. Then she's going to book a published scheduled flight on 30th July via Taipei. She'll book it direct with the airline as she's lost faith in Expedia and the like. Still waiting for any refund due to cancellation.
