If that is Eva Air, then no one is allowed to disembark after the flight from Taipei to Bangkok. AFAIK, even crew do not disembark in BKK . They just do a pick up service in BKK and fly to London. On the return leg, they fly direct from London to Taipei missing out BKK altogether.HHTel wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 12:39 pm My daughter rang the Embassy yesterday. They couldn't advise her of any repatriation flights. All they could tell her was to fill in the registration form then wait for approval at such time she'd need to pay. Following that she would be advised when a flight becomes available.
She's due to ask USCIS for a further 30 day extension, which I'm sure she'll get. Then she's going to book a published scheduled flight on 30th July via Taipei. She'll book it direct with the airline as she's lost faith in Expedia and the like. Still waiting for any refund due to cancellation.

Reading this with one eye at 6.40 a.m. waiting for the coffee to brew, I thought this said "Then she's going to get a book published"! Well, there's a thought...
All kidding apart, I hope things get sorted out soon. She and hubby must be missing the kids terribly (not to mention you having to look after them during lockdown!

Just for info, today's Daily Brief shows people in Washington and one of the (non-existent???) repatriation flights.

Re: Returning Expats
The confirmed airline ticket is a bit of a surprise. I know they've been requesting that from the outset, but the Embassy in Ankara put out a letter a couple of days ago saying definitely don't obtain a ticket first. Of course, there's so many lies being bandied about these days, and with modern technology such documents are easy to forge, but it looked authentic to me.
I was going to post it, but decided against it. If I can find it again, I'll put it below this as an edit.

My daughter rang USCIS a couple of days ago as her last extension is about to expire. They told her not to worry and it may be a few days to get back to her. "There are literally thousands of Thais in the same situation as you. Please be patient!"

Re: Returning Expats
I booked using mileage points so don't know the price. Japan air from Los Angeles. There were flights scheduled daily. I've booked 4 flights, having to cancel, or they cancelled on me, when the Thai government extended the ban. Guaranteed? Only until the government extends the ban again.

This could be good news for people going to Thailand. Covid test in the airports on arrival. If negative no need for quarantine.
