Have you managed to obtain affordable health insurance incl Covid cover for $100k?migrant wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 10:17 pm When Covid closed everything down I was scheduled to fly out April 25. I rebooked every time they closed the airport so on 3 or 4 now. Had a July 31 flight booked landing Aug 2 in BKK. This is what happened the other times, my info just disappeared with no explanation. I went to the AA website and it looks like it was cancelled. So opening the airports Aug 1 doesn't look good. Luckily AA has been great with refunding my points with a quick phone call.
So only current hope is a repatriation flight.

Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
Well I was happily surprised today, received an email from the LA Thai consulate saying I was approved to return! Still more hurdles though I think the biggest is done. I have a list of repatriation flights leaving end of July and with the approval email I can book a seat (if available). I also have to do a covid test and fit to fly 72 hours before the flight and do the 14 day quarantine. The next biggest problem is the covid test, most places here say results in 3-5 days maybe which doesn't fit the 72 hour requirement. Found a place that says 12-24 hours so will be tight since I have to upload to the embassy and receive back the CoE all within those 72 hours.
HHtel, anything good on your daughter? Looking at the facebook page I seem to be the first to receive this permission.

Excellent news, Migrant. Seems things are looking up for you.
My daughter is still playing the waiting game. The next thing she should here from the embassy is that she has had her details verified and approved. At that point, she'll be in the same boat as you. Getting the relevant paperwork in place.
At least she doesn't have to worry about staying over in the States as USCIS have confirmed that they'll give her 30 day extensions until such time as she can leave.
She's missing her kids a lot. The same kids that are driving me up the wall!

Sorry, only just noticed this.
Here's the first link I came up with when I Googled this.

There may be others.
Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
My daughter, stuck in the US, has applied some time ago for inclusion on one of the repatriation flights. Washington embassy (the same that said yesterday that Swampy had re-closed and all incoming flights are currently banned!) sent her application to the Thai immigration for verification and approval. She was told to wait until her application has been approved then she will join the queue for a repat' flight.
Today, she received notification from the Washington embassy that her application to travel TO THE US AS A THAI CITIZEN living in the US is under consideration. This, apparently, forwarded from Thai immigration!
The world's gone mad. Stupidity being led by the Thais!

Reading the stranded pages on facebook many approved travelers can not find a approved hotel, they are all full!! Seems like someone could have done some simple math but......

Thai immigration must be salivating looking at the Cambodia ruling that any arrival has to deposit $3000US to cover any convid expenses. If any one person on your flight tests + then you are forced into a govt quarantine site and charged accordingly.
