As I previously said, I paid 5,000baht for a Samsung A10S with Dolby Atmos installed

Lazada banging them out between 3 and 4k baht. Personally I would rather see first hand what I'm getting.

I tend to look at the phones at MV, choose what I want, and then purchase from the likes of Lazada if the price is right.

That phone has been on sale at Powerbuy for at least 6 months. I was tempted then, I read the reviews.

A friend has an Oppo, said, "never again." Poor battery life.

You can do a search for "best cheap smartphones" and read the reviews. Here are some that I've found. Not sure how many are available in Thailand: Huawei P Smart, Sony Experia, Moto E5, Honor 10 Lite, Moto E6+. I can't recommend one as I don't own one. Every time I think about buying a smart phone, I can't think of a single reason to own one.

Its more likely to do with the hardware, so I would take your headphones and test out a few devices until you find one that sounds how you want it to.

Let us know what you end up getting.
Dug around the net...

Found several people on Reddit who state the the max volume on Xiaomi phones with earphones depends on what Region you set, and apparently Switzerland is the highest volume along with St Helena!!

Wondering if Thailand is set a little lower??

Any thoughts on that theory Buksi? Would be pain in the *** changing it.

Mind you they speak English in St Helena! Image

Geographical location should make no difference to phone speaker volume ... unless you're way up a mountain or under the ocean at the time.

There is the premise though that the Thai govt doesn't want you hearing certain things online ... :duck:

Yes. When I put my standard(pocket) headphones in and turn the volume up to max on the redmi note 9 its about 10/15% lower than my current device(redmi note 4x)

Happy with the device other than that but I just fear that the volume issue will bug me forever more!

Hence all the discussions about Dolby atmos

There is a separate volume control in "Settings" where you set the max level for "Ringtone", "Media", "Notifications" and "System" (at least with Android devices). This is separate to the volume keys on the phone - is this the issue perhaps?
