It does not, but they say photos do not lie. We can not deny people are wearing yellow shirts (coincidentally I am wearing a yellow shirt as I speak, but with no political alliance). It was no more than a statement.

Be interesting to know what the official figures for the pro royalist demo outside the palace were yesterday. I would think 2-3000. Many dressed identically (even down to shoes). Road in/out of town down to one lane in each direction. Took me over 40 minutes from where the traffic queue started (opposite chevrolet) to clear it. Had forgotten it was planned.

Protesters plan action after PM ignores deadline to quit
Anti-government protesters said on Saturday they would hold demonstrations on Sunday and Monday after Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ignored their 10pm deadline to resign.
Asked by journalists whether he would stand down, Gen Prayut simply said "won't quit" after Buddhist prayers at Wat Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram that were held to call for national healing following months of protests that have also demanded reforms of the monarchy.
After the deadline expired, the Dao Din group announced on its Facebook account that a rally will be held at Ratchaprasong intersection at 4pm on Sunday. The protesters will gather at Samyan intersection at 5pm on Monday and walk to the German embassy, it added.
"Prayut is the problem. The first obstacle that we need to remove," said Jatupat “Pai Dao Din” Boonpattararaksa, one of the leaders of the demonstration planned for Sunday. He was among dozens of protesters arrested this month and was freed on bail on Friday.
Since July, protesters have been demanding the departure of Gen Prayut and a new constitution. More recently they have also stepped up demands for reforms to curb the powers of the monarchy.
Gen Prayut, who first took power in a 2014 coup, rejects the accusations of his critics that he engineered last year's election to keep power.

There have been a number of conspiracy theories swirling around the ongoing political crisis in Thailand. The most popular of all is that the whole affair is being orchestrated by certain western powers with an aim of overthrowing the current Thai government.
A recent opinion piece in the Global Times, an English-language publication under the People’s Daily which is an official mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, has quickly seized on the theory.
Under the headline “Behind-scenes funding of Thailand protests show invisible Western hands”, the article noted what it described as “a striking similarity” between the ongoing protests in Thailand and those in Hong Kong. It said the protesters attempted to occupying public places, landmarks and downtown shopping malls.
“This was all done in a bid to trigger broad attention from the international community,” it said.
The article also claimed that “unidentified Westerners at rallies in Thailand openly instructed students to set up stages and barricades.”
“There was also a very professional camera team hiding in the crowd to capture ‘touching’ scenes. These images included protesters kneeing before officers and armed police swinging batons in front of unarmed protesters. Such photos went viral on social media platforms,” it said.
It said the images were intended “to incite ordinary people’s hatred against the ‘brutal’ government and thereby turned them into protesters. This was a clear recruitment campaign.”
Thai protest leaders, however, have consistently maintained that the ongoing anti-government rallies are organic and rejected claims they were influenced by foreign forces.

Prayut came under heavy attacks throughout the debate which saw many of the opposition MPs openly siding with the ongoing protests aimed at removing the prime minister and having the constitution amended.
Kao Klai Party leader Pita Limcharoenrat on Tuesday also made a lengthy plea for a reform of the monarchy during the debate.
The opposition MPs said Thailand’s economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Prayut has been a shambles and held him responsible for the ongoing political crisis. They called on him “to make sacrifices” by resigning.

Of course they're going to blame someone else. China always wants to cast the West as the bad guys, and the Gov here always wants to make believe these kids can't organize themselves and there MUST BE some dark hand manipulating them. Propaganda 101.

It was a ploy, a trick by the coup makers, do not fall for it. The move to re-arrest Rung, Mike, and Penguin in front of their families and friends was calculated. They want the protestors to become violent so that they can respond with violence. This was as obvious as the royal motorcade incident, do not fall for it.
It is not hard to see through the protracted legal procedures that are meant to intimidate, to disrupt the movement, and wear down supporters physically and mentally.
It will not work, because they’re stupid, just like the water cannons did not work.
More people will come out against this government’s dictatorial actions.
But don’t expect Prayut, the Pinocchio of Thailand, to back down. He will strike again.
Every action that has come out of this government has been masterminded by Prayut and Prawit who have their claws all over the police and security apparatus.
Prayut says it was not his decision that led to the motorcade fiasco or the forceful arrests of Penguin and Mike. In that case, at the very least Suwat Jangyodsuk, Prayut’s newly appointed chief of police must resign to show responsibility.
At the same time, it is not only the re-arresting of pro-democracy protest leaders that is raising serious questions about the Prayut administration’s violation of human rights, it is also the unlawful use of sedition charges.

I've been watching quite a few videos posted by folk on social media about this recently. Not allowed to repost here due to the content. The attitude has leaned a lot towards 'foreign' influence driving the protests. Discussing how Thailand has never been colonised and foreigners don't like that. That the students are being manipulated by foreigners. And it's being lapped up.
As if Thailand needs any more anti-foreigner sentiment than it already has.
I'm guessing the disappearance of videos showing support for the students is down to the government's censorship rather than waning support.
