To me, panic was clearing the supermarket shelves as per the European model.
I saw a few empty shelves in Europe during the first lockdown in March but I didn't see anyone panicking, they were just taking a few more of certain items during normal shopping trips as a precaution.

That isn't what was being portrayed on international news.

Anyway, that is now history, not news. I guess we should move on :offtopic:

Before we move on, I think it's fair to say that there was a brief spell of panic buying in the UK when the first lockdown kicked in, as reported in the news, but it didn't last long (a week or 2?) and I'm not aware of any problems since then.
This is the way

Neither did I, but I used that model as it was the only panic I had been aware of.

All of the English language Press is reporting numbers of people traveling are way, way down, voluntarily. Photo shots of bus stations and the big Bangkok train station show no crowds at all and no, they haven't all left already.

As I understand it, all the provinces mentioned in the briefing today will not have any new year celebrations. Indeed, most places will be closed in those provinces.

But, what is stop them travelling to provinces that are still open and where events are still going on ? I.e. people from BKK or phetchaburi or cha-am could just drive down to Hua Hin.

This could lead to a mass transfer of virus around the country !!
