Think about it logically, my visa renewal is in 6 months time. If I have Covid, should we really be waiting that long before I'm tested? I accept that I'm a dirty, smelly Farang so must be riddled with Covid, so why aren't they testing me now?

After doing such a fantastic job of keeping us safe last year, the management are now making their success look a bit lucky.

Well the 2 sections of the act mentioned, 12(4) and 44(2) apply to people entering the kingdom and people applying for permanent residence, respectively. Not those applying for extensions. So no surprise.

This news said private hospitals are buying vaccine and will sit on it until approval. They suggest 3,000 baht a shot. I think (as stated by another member here) that more likely 10,000 baht a shot if performed by private hospital.

Strict anti-virus controls to remain for now
Strict Covid-19 control measures will continue at least until the end of this month, while a formal assessment of the Covid-19 situation will be carried out at a later date to determine once more which measures will continue or be relaxed, says Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Overall the situation has improved, despite the rise in number of new Covid-19 cases, he said. There shouldn't be a problem if the situation is under control, he added.

All remaining rights to the government's spending subsidy were snapped up within minutes as people rushed to register on Wednesday morning.

Thats what happens when the govt only allocates enough for 1.3 million out of a population of 70 million. Also a lot of social media uproar about those that really need it (older citizens, farmers, low-income earners etc) not being able to use these ridiculously complicated apps.

The scheme I am talking about is for those out of work, etc, and enrollment to the scheme will be between 29 Jan and 12 Feb via the www.เราชนะ.com website.

The 50/50 scheme also involves a 3,500 payment for two months to those already registered so the two are connected.

At least five hospitals in Bangkok apply a “dual pricing” policy on their coronavirus tests, charging foreigners more than their Thai counterparts, a survey by Khaosod English has found.

Although the price of COVID-19 tests have largely gone down in general since the first year of the pandemic – and a majority of hospitals charge Thais and foreigners the same rate – disparity in fees based on nationalities can still be found.

The price for a coronavirus test at Ramathibodi Hospital is 40 percent more for foreigners, while Sriraj Piyamaharajkarun Hospital charges foreigners 25 percent more than Thai customers.

Other hospitals who maintain the two-tier pricing system include the Urban Institute for Disease Prevention and Control, Vichaiyut, and Praram 9.

I still reckon a certain private establishment here in town will start the bidding at 10,000 per shot!
