Posting this in here as these types of incidents are becoming more common here. Thais often behave like like 8-year-olds when they're on the roads and don't get their own way ...

Road-rage shooter wounds van driver
A passenger van driver was wounded in a road-rage incident on Saturday, after shots were fired by a man who later claimed the van had cut in front of his car.

Lukman Hayeelador, 29, of Yi-ngo district in Narathiwat, was apprehended on Phetkasem Soi 35 in Hat Yai not long after the incident in neighbouring Na Mom district.

The Finance Ministry is set to propose relief measures for cabinet approval next week to help borrowers at state-owned financial institutions in 33 provinces affected by stringent containment restrictions.

The attack occurred around 10am on Asia Road in Khuan Jong village of tambon Na Mom when shots were fired from a car into the van. Horlahudee Yanya, the van driver, was wounded in the right leg.

A friend of the injured driver used his phone to take video of the attack. It captured an image of the white car with Songkhla licence plates.

Police checked the registration and traced the car to Phetkasem Soi 35, where the suspect was found inside the car with two friends.

Mr Lukman, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, admitted to having opened fire alone. He insisted his two friends were not involved.

Police seized an 11mm pistol and nine bullets from him. The gun was illegal.

The suspect told police he became angry after the van driver cut in front of his car earlier at the Don Yang intersection in Pattani. His friend, who was driving the car, followed the van for about 70 kilometres, catching up with it in Na Mom, where the suspect fired three shots at the van driver.

This ones a bit out of the ordinary, even by Thai standards.

Motorist drives onto airport runway and into the path of a Boeing 777 that had just landed after 'taking a wrong turn' in Thailand.

The incident at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport was caught on film on Tuesday
A car is seen careering along the runway towards a plane that has just landed
Driver Prathipat Masakul was later found to have taken methamphetamine before the incident, airport authorities said

I heard a report of a horrific accident in Khao Takiab yesterday on the car radio this morning. A white pick up reportedly driven by a foreign male crossing the central reservation mowing down 2 females on a motorcycle. The motorcyclists didn't stand a chance.

I've just seen the cctv footage, and horrific is a good description. The driver will have a lot of explaining to do.

Very tragic.

The use of 'central reservation' implied to me, a sort of barrier between two lanes, so I imagined it was on the Petch Road. It was a surprise when I saw the CCTV footage and realised that wasn't the case and the truck just crosses over into the opposite lane, unless that was the just the end of a trail of mayhem that started further north, as it mentions he hit a group of riders? Whereas the CCTV shows just the one bike being totally taken out.

A distinctive white Ford Ranger was the vehicle being driven.

RIP to the two ladies.

Just another report of the same. States that the foreign driver is now in custody possibly facing a drunk driving charge:
It has been reported that two people have been killed and several people injured when a foreigner driving a pickup truck at high speed crashed into motorcyclists in Hua Hin.
The horrific accident took place in Khao Takiab at around 5pm on Thursday.
A witness said that a white Ford Ranger pick up truck was travelling at high speed when the driver lost control, mounted crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided with a number of motorcyclists before coming to standstill after crashing into a wall on the opposite side of the road.
Images shared to social media showed multiple people receiving treatment on the roadside and four ambulances in attendance at the scene.
The injured were rushed to Hua Hin hospital for further treatment.
It is understood the foreign driver, who has not been named, is in police custody with allegations of drunk driving.

Drunk at 5 pm, bars being close, certainly not the result of happy hours.

A pi$$ed foreigner driving at speed, losing control and killing two women (injuring several others)- it's a wonder we aren't loved isn't it.......

The picture above looks like a "modified" version of a Ford Ranger to me - look at the wheels/tyres for a start. Modified suspension et.al

No, this is fairly standard, 'out of the box' for the newer Rangers these days. I find mine wide enough, why they have added bits of plastic to make them 6" wider I don't know. The rise on the wheel arch looks about the same as mine, but the wheels do look a lot nicer than mine, although it is a high end version, so may be standard.

Driver dies in fiery car crash

PHETCHABURI: The driver of a small sedan was killed when her vehicle careered across the Phetkasem highway, ran into a power post and burst into flames on Monday, police said.

The accident occurred about 10.40am in front of the Phet Siam PE Pipes premises in Khao Yoi district.
Eyewitnesses told police the car, a white Phetchaburi-registered Honda, had been travelling at high speed, overtaking many other cars before swerving across the median strip onto the other side of the Phetkasem highway, and crashing into a power post.

The car then went up in flames. The vehicle's engine was thrown out onto the highway by the violence of the impact. An oncoming car ran into it and was damaged.

Rescuers dowsed the burning car with water and removed the charred body found inside it. The dead driver was later identified as a woman, Panya Kaewpaluek.

Driver killed, four students hurt when van hits power pole

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: The driver of a van was killed and four student passengers on their way to school hurt when he lost control of the vehicle and it hit a roadside power pole in Muang district on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred about 7.30am on Bangkok-bound Phetkasem Road in tambon Khlong Wan of Muang district, Pol Lt Col Urit Khankaew, duty officer at Khlong Wan police station, said.

The van was taking students from Thap Sakae district to a school in Muang district.

The vehicle was seen to swerve from the right lane into the left lane, then run off the road and into a power pole.

Police said the driver, identified only as Praset, and four students were injured.

Prasert was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

There were reports the driver had a chronic illness and had just received dialysis at a hospital.

Par for the course. No management, and more distressing the man probably had no avenue to report that he wasn't feeling well and/or impaired as he couldn't afford to lose a day's pay! :banghead:

This is not the first one exactly like this. What is it when a tire blows than the whole bus ignites?! Some modifications to the fuel source that's susceptible to impact from below when a tire blows? Five people burned to death, including kids. :(

KHON KAEN: Five passengers died and 12 others were seriously injured when a Bangkok-bound double-decker bus went up in flames in Ban Haet district of this northeastern province in the small hours of Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred at about 12.30am on the Mitrapap highway at Nong Kham village in tambon Non Sombun.

Survivors told police the 407 Pattana Company bus departed from Bung Kan province on Monday evening and stopped in Udon Thani before heading for Bangkok with 33 passengers on board.

The bus made another stop in Khon Kaen and then proceeded shortly after midnight. While passing Nong Kham village, a rear tire of the bus burst and caught fire. The fire spread to the engine compartment and the entire bus was soon engulfed in flames.

A rescue unit and a fire engine arrived shortly afterwards and managed to put out the flames in about an hour. The bus was badly damaged.

Five passengers, two of them children, were burned to death in the bus and 12 others suffered serious burns. Sixteen other passengers were able to escape the burning vehicle and survived. The bus driver also sustained injuries.

The injured were admitted to Sirindhorn and Khon Kaen hospitals for treatment.

An investigation was underway.

I forgot about LGP. As many 18 wheel trucks run on it or similar here, I imagine buses do also.

I can see where a blown tire causes enough force/impact to puncture an LPG tank if it's in the vicinity, which would explain the instantaneous ignition/explosion of the fuel.
