I'd read earlier that, "The jump today was caused by an increase in "proactive/migrant" cases - from 8 yesterday to 43 today."

Whilst my version is a more acceptable version of the truth, which is correct? :?

Quite interesting reading the first posts on this thread back in January 2020 when it was titled 'New Chinese Virus will have infected hundreds'.

What a difference between then and now!

SO - I presume those 2young women will be paying bht20,000 fine and have 1 year jail, which I believe was what the govt stated some months ago after the first women were captured?

I suspect that, if mandatory testing was implemented, they'd find a lot more cases.

Why is the little girl in Hua Hin?
Family may have thought they could protect her by getting her out of the "danger zone."

Probably sent her to stay with friends/relatives here.

I wish they'd be more specific. Prachuab is quite a large province.

Myanmar people deserve to be welcomed as refugees, but with Covid tests.

I get the impression that Thailand has been a pretty good place to weather out this pandemic. I make video calls to Thailand every day and see life going on pretty much as normal, yesterday I called someone who was at one of those large Thai weddings with loads of people, food drink and dancing girls.
Here in Europe we´re just starting on the second year of absolutely everything being cancelled, I haven´t even been to a restaurant since I left Thailand last March, everything has either been closed or too restrictive to bother with.

Yes, Steve,
We have got away with it extremely well. Last year we went for many months without a single infection (apart from those found in quarantine). The Myanmar problem hit us which caused a 1 month closure of bars, restaurants and the like but now everything is normal with no restrictions to speak of.

Well, there are still new cases being recorded daily and another new outbreak linked to another Bkk market.

Thanks, Caller. I have to admit that I've not been keeping up with the latest recently, and have had my head in the sand. I have family living around that area. I'll have to keep a check on that outbreak.

Quarantine period cut to 10 days

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... to-10-days

Thailand has shortened the quarantine period for arrivals to 10 days from 14, effective next month.

Starting April 1, both Thais and foreigners coming to Thailand will be isolated for 10 days, according to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), which posted the updates on its Facebook on Monday.

During the period, they will be tested for Covid-19 twice — one during day 3 to day 5 and the other on day 9 or day 10.

The exception is those from countries where there are mutations of the virus in which case they will be isolated for 14 days.

Rules on allowed activities during the quarantine are also eased.

People in quarantine may leave rooms during certain hours and for some purposes such as to use fitness centres or swimming pools; exercise outdoors; or buy food and products, but must remain in the quarantine facilities.

In addition, the required paperwork before trips will be slightly changed.

For foreigners coming to Thailand, fit-to-fly documents will no longer be required. Only RT-PCR test results taken within 72 hours are needed.

Thais may choose to submit either fit-to-fly documents or RT-PCR test results, according to the CCSA.
