Funny Housing development names?

I'm sure you have some over that side of the Gulf? I've seen the following in the last few days over here:

1) Everglades. Anyone who knows the USA and the State of Florida knows this describes hundreds of square miles of swamp and wet lands, full of alligators and snakes. Why a Thai developer would use this name is beyond me.

2) Rock & Home. I just spotted this one in the countryside near Sattahip. Either they're selling caves, or it's a retirement complex for ex-rockers?

Hi there Pete

I believe the first one is being used just because it sounds so nice and sleeky. I believe that this Thai Develloper has never been to the US of A before nor knew that this Name belong to a Swamp near Miami. Thais who wants to buy a house in Development love good sounding, sleeky Names!
Example given
First Woman:"Uhh where do you live in Pattaya?"
Second Woman:"Yeah I live in the Everglades Houses!"
First Woman:"Ohh! How High So!!!"
Second Woman:"Yeah!!!" and this goes on and on and on.....

On the second one I suspect Their Sales Target type Peop's are: The Flintstones Plus The Rockheimers ....LOL:cheers:
