Tropical storm

Post by lomuamart »

As we already have experienced here in HH, theres currently some relief from the hot weather, but at the expense of heavy rains and flooding downtown. Apparantly, were being hit by a tropical depression that could bring the heaviest rainfall in 46 years.

Maybe shovelled too much salt!

Seriously, could you keep us informed of strong winds or bad floods please.
Thanks.

One dog with hypothermia in dog center (now in my bedroom). One puppy dead, 2 sick. Nowhere dry for our dogs to sleep in the center proper - those cowboy builders fleeced us good & proper on the roofing, the rain is pouring in! :cuss: About 15 dogs having to live inside my house, now, & the ones in my garden in cages having to be continually moved to keep them dry. Bedding not drying, so when they mess it, no dry replacements...

Who the hell was praying for rain? :guns: :cuss:

I have just come across this site which appears to give a good observation of current situation. Or is this just the plan for rainmaking?

From the Thai Met. Department.
Warning
"Tropical depression in the Gulf of Thailand"

At 04.00 a.m. today, tropical depression has its center in the coastal areas of Myanmar, west of Ta Sae, Chumphon, or at Lat. 10.5 °N, Long. 98.5 °E with maximum wind speed about 50 km/hr. The depression is moving westward slowly and will move to the upper portion of the Andaman Sea today. More rain and heavy to very heavy rain are expected in some places over provinces of the lower Central, East and South of Thailand; such as, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Trang and Satun, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi. People in the risky areas should beware of flash flood and flooding condition. Besides, high wave 2-3 meters in upper Gulf is likely. All ships should proceed with caution during 2-3 May 2007.

Ozuncle, that seems to be showing up to date information; I think the rainmaking department will be taking the day off!

You folks are getting it much worse than over here. We've had steady rain and overcast since Sunday night but just very light, probably no more than 2" in total for the 3 days so far. Pete

From the Nation.

Serious flood hits Hua Hin: disaster-zone declaration is being considered.

Local administrative leaders asked Prachuap Khiri Khan Prasong Pitoonkijja to declare Hua Hin a disaster zone Thursday's night.

The request came amid worsening floods in the area.

Several spots in Hua Hin, which is located in Prachuap Khiri Khan, were under water. A local bridge was severed.

Floods hit after rain poured down on the area.
