I used express a lot whilst living in hk but watching sky, b and bbc. Yes find your favourite uk location to help with the streaming there are several.

A few times i had to change my computers clock to local time uk to fool the bbc and sky gatekeepers. Not sure how or why this helped but it did!

Generally though had only few days issues with express

by own experience I consider this is rumours, never worked for me. The price usually is calculated from your first point of departure and the related currency

If this is really just rumours, there are scores of sites that confirm that it works. Just googling "getting cheaper flights using a vpn" returned almost 5 million hits.
I've read a dozen or so, all different, and quoting actual events. With so much info on how to use it, it rings true. My daughter in the UK is going to give it a go. Let's see how she does.

I have in the past, booked a flight from Seattle to BKK in Thailand. I never used a VPN but prices certainly came up in Baht. So it's certainly possible to buy a ticket from an airport outside of Thailand without having to be in the departure country.

I doubt whether you can do it direct with the airline. However, if you deal through an agency, then it's the agency that books the ticket with the airline and you pay the agency of course.

I’ve just tried it using a VPN set to Thailand and a VPN set to London and flights from BKK to LHR return were exactly the same price!!

Not sure if it helps but I read somewhere that you should set your computers clock to whichever timezone VPN you are logged into.

I must admit that I didn’t do that, just a quick check. If/when I need to book a flight, I’ll be more thorough!!

Maybe not so interesting for most but I have TrueID so I can watch all channels in my subscription (Platinum) online. I have tried a few times overseas using ExpressVPN connected to Thailand but always came back that it was not available in my current location! Now, when I use NordVPN connected to Thailand it works like a charm. This just shows that there are differences in how the VPN clients work!

I’m still using ExpressVPN whichis currently working ok, but if I do encounter any problems, then I’ll switch to Nord.

Will give it a go with the VPN just to check - why not if I can save some money on the LHG's flight to China?!!!

Must admit though, I always thought pricing was based on point of departure.

VPN-notice nobody mentioned 'protonVPN'. I've used that, occasionally, as free & unlimited use, with no issues.

Just for the hell of it and because I'm up early, I tried booking the same flight both here and in the UK.

Using Booking.com I got to the point of booking a ticket from London to Swampy. Price in THB of course.
Then did the same search on booking.com with my VPN connected to London. Prices in Sterling as expected.

It was around £50 cheaper buying a ticket London to Swampy in Thailand than buying it in the UK.

I signed up with them about a month ago and it seemed to work fine.

Since then I experienced periodic disconnection from the internet whether I was using the VPN, or not. I would have to reboot to reconnect to our strong wifi.

Today I got disconnected again and even with rebooting (a few times) it did not connect to the internet. I uninstalled Express and now all works fine.

Anyone else have this experience, and any solutions?
