Blood Pressure Treatment
Hi Guys,
I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2018 at San Paulo and prescribed Losartan tablets, these seemed to keep things fine for some time.
I have now retired and returned here at the end of April 2021, so no more work related stress. I'm not overweight.
I check my BP daily with a BP monitor however over the last week it has been going up daily according to the monitor.
I recently went to HH Hospital who tested and said it was high but the doc just said to carry on with the Losartan. Didn't ask any historic or family questions or anything about my lifestyle.
My question is which hospital or doctor is best to be assessed and treated at, HH Hospital, San Paulo or BKK or is there anywhere else.

Re: Blood Pressure Treatment
I have had blood pressure problems for a few years. A couple of years ago I had a very bad cough, and read that the blood pressure medicine I was taking could be the cause. I asked the heart specialist doc in Bangkok Hospital, but like most of the docs there they are trying to see as many patients as possible and did not take time to answer my questions. Another Doc in Bangkok hospital informed me that only 1 in 100 people had a cough with the medicine! I tried Be Well clinic, and the Doc there listened to me, changed the medicine and the cough disappeared within a week. Be Well also have a consultant heart specialist they can talk to. If you are concerned about high blood pressure then I would definitely recommend them.

Where is Be Well?
In my entire life, I've had only 1 doctor who listened to what I said and answered my questions.

Thank you. I see they have a hearing aid clinic, July 30th. That could save me a trip to Bangkok.

Re: Blood Pressure Treatment
My wife had exactly the same problem with her old blood pressure medicine. After two years of a suffering from a persistent cough, I noticed one day that the pharmaceutical insert in the package for the medicine actually listed coughing as a potential, albeit rare side-effect. To be fair, once I informed her doctor, he changed her medication immediately (although we had been complaining about her cough for about two years and he surely should have been aware of this himself?). Anyway, as soon as she switched to a different medicine, her cough disappeared.DSB wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 6:06 pm I have had blood pressure problems for a few years. Thanks all I am not satisfied with HHH or SP so I will give Be Well a visit.
JUst one thing, cost wise are they similar to Bangkok hospital rates or San Paulo rates.

i can recommend Dr Polpat at Hua Hin Heart Clinic.. He is a top-heart consultant and arguably the best around . No appointments turn up and you will experience real professionalism. He will sort your problem and keep you appraised of your condition. Not expensive. He supplies all meds in house
To be found near Bangkok Bank top end of Petchkasem.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend him. I took my wife to see him and the examination seemed very detailed, however once home I checked on the internet as to which medication she had been prescribed and it was for high blood pressure whereas she suffers from low blood pressure. If she had taken it could have been disastrous.machersjohn wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 8:10 pm i can recommend Dr Polpat at Hua Hin Heart Clinic.. I went back and he was very apologetic however we never went again.
