Hi everyone from a rainy, miserable ,Manchester UK.Vaccinations are high here now 80% vaccinated. It is reported that the few in hosptals haven't had the jab..all I know is we are double Pfizer jabbed and my daughters boyfriend, who lives with us,got ill with the Delta varient. He was poorly at home, but we didn't get ill.Very relieved that we stayed OK and made us feel more positive about travelling. We are desperate to get back to Hua Hin,to our condo, but I wonder what you experts think of the Hua Hin Recharge Project.Do you think it will happen,if so what would the rules be?Same as Phuket to be in a hotel? If so then that would be a no no for us.And is it worth coming back to Hua Hin in October,I guess lots of things are closed?I have just seen on the news that HK has put Thailand on thier red zone,so waiting to see what the UK travel update on the 25th will be.Thailand is Amber at the moment.
My personal view, and I'm sure others will have their own version of the truth.
I believe the people in charge are doing everything they can to achieve Recharge, but we must remember, these are the same people who were making promotional videos inviting the Chinese to visit Hua Hin towards the end of March 2020.
The number of local vaccinations are advancing at a great rate of knots, but they are only vaccinating people registered in Hua Hin. If persons are registered elsewhere, it is unlikely they'll even be noticed before October, and a lot of Hua Hin's workforce is registered elsewhere.
We are now entering our 3rd week of significant restrictions. These will last until at least September. If I follow the rules to the letter of the law, I need authorisation to pass under the airport bridge. Can Hua Hin really go from significant restrictions to fully open in a month? Unlikely.
Fully open, should be what it says on the tin. However, Phuket forced people into a hotel. The rush to get Hua Hin open is to make money, so in the unlikely event of Recharge happening, they will be trying to screw people for as much money as they can.
I'll stop there, and let others agree/disagree with my thoughts. Welcome to the forum by the way.

'Tis a good question. Stuck here in Blighty since dashing back from HH last March, we're grateful for any glimmer of hope to be able to get back to see if the house is still standing. (Q for anyone in Soi 6, is our house still standing? have the locals moved in?). And there's the question of how to get to there, as you say, other than on one of the beach horses?
Does anyone know if any of the local car hire firms are still going?
Thanks, Jim.
