I'd rather see a report not made in Thailand. If true then it's good news. However, the credibility here is low so confirmation of the results of this study by an outside agency would go a long way.
There is no mention of the number of people in the study and no detailed analysis.
I have noticed that ever since you have received an appointment to have your jab in Bangkok without Sinovac, you have without fail commented adversely when anyone posts some good news etc about Sinovac.
Most readers are having the Sinovac/AZ combination at HHH - so it is not a nice thing to do, so please give it a break with none of this OK Jack thing.
There was an interesting post with a medical video from Singapore and Hong Kong doctors, which gave a much more unbiased view this week.

Post the link please and how do you know it was unbiased?
From what I'm reading there seems to be an even spread of members choosing HHH or exploring other options or do you know better!

Afraid I'm in agreement with HHTel, and I haven't had a sniff of any jab yet due to my age. The only positive "reports" regarding Sinovac are from the country that is selling it and the ones that are purchasing it to gain favour. The rest of the world is reporting that it barely works against the latest variant - so I'd rather take their research.
Edit: the mixing is largely experimental and untested on scale, but there are plenty of lab rats in Thailand!

Actually, looking at the numbers produced on Thai News this morning, those having double AZ are at quite a disadvantage to the Sinovac + AZ dose. The power of double Sinovac + AZ means you have to wear your underwear on the outside.
What we be believe and disbelieve is entirely personal choice. These reports are written by clever people, and they aren't going to sell themselves short. It is all about selling vaccines, so nobody is going to say their solution is rubbish (although it seems AZ followed by Sinovac is less than useless). Maybe a report written in the West is more believable than something coming out of China or Thailand. Just be grateful we're getting something, which will hopefully keep us safe in the shorter term. Vaccine will be plentiful enough in the future to sort out a solution that will allow us to pick and choose a potentially better solution.

Thai news, that bastion of truth . Fact is that the clowns have purchased a shit load of Sinovac/pharm and need to justify it to a public that have low confidence in it. Myself, and many others, had other options and I would have taken the HHH jab if MedPark,BCCT or others hadn't come through.

Tuesday Aug 17th at 3.08pm and the next post was from yourself too!!
Jeez, two days on this thread is comparable to a lifetime.
I haven't read anything by anybody who has been to BCCT or MedPark posting a "I'm all right Jack" attitude. Just reporting their experiences with anybody interested in taking other options.

I'm not saying it's the truth, but what I'm saying is that everything has a huge spin on it these days. Everybody is marketing their own products, and the rewards of success are huge.
I don't know the truth - far from it. However, the question remains in the back of my head, if Sinovac is so bad and AZ is so good, why do they continue to buy Sinovac when AZ costs a fraction of the price? Surely if it is as bad as many people say, they'd be better off saving their cash and buying a better product. Is this cash strapped Government really that stupid to continually purchase millions of units of a very expensive product that doesn't work?
Maybe the Government needs to get a Facebook Page (many accredited 'expert' anti-vaxers available) to discover the truth. IMHO most of these 'experts' are seeking their 2 minutes of fame. The law of averages says one will be right.

Thailand is China's lapdog, that is why they keep buying an inferior product at a higher price. They also want their hordes to come back and rejuvenate tourism so shunning Chinese wares now would not be a wise move ... plus there will be plenty over for expectant pockets. It has nothing to do with how efficient or otherwise the dose is (I thought all this was obvious).

That's rich. I've only been given an appointment from BCCT in the last couple of days. I approached them only after their policy change giving a mix of Sinovac and AZ. I did that after reading various reports warning against mixed vaccines. The UK will treat anyone with mixed shots as 'unvaccinated'. The WHO warned against mixed doses. Much of the WHO's opposition was on the safety of it.
Without other options, I would have taken the HHH shot for as BB said, "It's better than nothing". Also, this time last week I hadn't a clue as to when my name would rise to the top of the list. It's only this week that HHH have gone overboard on vaccinations (Hua Hin Recharge, I'm sure had something to do with it).
Just today on CH3 they are saying that Sinovac/Sinovac/AZ is immensely more effective than AZ/AZ.
I'm only asking the same questions as many others. The same questions being asked by the Thais themselves.
So show me evidence originating from outside of Thailand.
why do they continue to buy Sinovac when AZ costs a fraction of the price?
Now there's a question which has been raised by the Thai public and from reports outside of Thailand. I think Reuters were the first to question why Thailand is paying way over the odds for a vaccine that has shown low efficacy in other countries.
Yes, I've considered all of that, but 8x the cost of something many believe is better (yes, I too would have been happier with 2 x AZ, but maybe I've been brainwashed) seems to be well OTT. I just find it incredulous that the Government would continually pay 8x the cost for a supposedly inferior product.
Then, there are 57 other countries using it, I assume at the same cost. The Sinovac marketing team must be the best in the world, selling an inferior product for 8x the cost of a product that is advertised as being better. Are all of these countries just as stupid/corrupt? Maybe.
I am not trying to say any of this makes sense to me. I'm just saying it's a niggling question in the back of my head.
