Re: Documentaries

Post by sateeb »

I've started watching (usually in the background as I go about my day) the Smithsonian Channel on my cable TV provider.
Today there was a documentary on the Spanish Flu of 1918. Interestingly it was aired on TV just a few months before our own pandemic hit home. Even back then there were a number of conspiracy theorists who claimed it was produced in Bayers German labs and transported by U boats.

Can't find any downloads on my corner shop stores but its available in full on U Toob.

Part of a 2 season series called America's Hidden Stories.

Every generation has its conspiracy nuts, but it has multiplied dramatically since the internet. Simple minded people who cannot be educated by fact, who want to belong to something unique.

Just finished this on Netflix. A really good watch, I thought.

Last Breath

A diver is stranded on bottom of the North Sea with only five minutes of oxygen and no chance of rescue for at least thirty minutes. The original participants deliver emotional first-hand accounts of an incident which changed their lives.

On yts for anyone interested who doesn't have Netflix.

In these uncertain Covid19 days this is a bit of a dammed if we do dammed if we don't documentary.

Aliens Inside Us(2013)

Every one of us teems with trillions of microorganisms: Streptococcus, Flavobacterium, and thousands of other kinds of bacteria and fungi. Some of these microbes are what we call "germs," but many more of them are actually good for us. Discover the health benefits of having aliens inside us, and see how those benefits are being threatened by our modern, sterile lifestyles. Then follow Dr. Dominguez-Bello on her expedition to the Amazon, where DNA samples of a remote group show how drastic the microbial imbalance in the Western world has become.

Basically, now we are sanitizing ourselves several times daily and washing away the "good" microbes.

I've always believed that in our younger(less sanitized) days we were grubbing around all day building up our bodies resistance. I honestly didn't know anyone who had a peanut allergy, was lactose intolerant or any such like allergies. I had measles(I think), definitely had mumps because I remember my older brother telling me to look at my face in the mirror. It was my dads shaving mirror!!! Frightened me to death  .

These days or so it seems most of these precious millennial prince and princesses have some sort of allergy or aversion.
STOP WASHING SO GODAMMN OFTEN :neener:

I'm watching it on the Smithsonian Channel but there are a few seeders on LimeTorrents

Steve Bannon is the most dangerous man in America IMO. He'll never be Prez but will always be in the background pulling the strings.

A highly intelligent man but clearly nuttier than squirrel turd. :naughty:

Available at the usual pop ins.

A freind of mine was a chef at a public school in Blandford, His kitcken was spotless, the inspections were ruthless, he used to say you could eat your dinner off of the floor and pick up no germs. The pupils were never ill, until they went home, the parents used to complain the children were always sick after they had been home a couple of days. This was due to them losing the resistance to bugs at the school.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

Well this one blew my mind. I'm not in any way a conspiracy nut but bloody hell some of this stuff is very compelling. I particularly found the Bush family/Dick Cheney parts very believable. George HW Bush was a former head of the CIA and made billions out of his oil interests and connections with the Saudi Royal family. Free renewable energy would have destroyed them!! I definitely think we are at a major crossroads as a civilization. Who's pulling the strings? It's much more than an ET phone home documentary.

Please enjoy and discuss if necessary  .. Usual torrents.

If those posting docos, movies, or TV series could also add a link to the download it would be muchos helpful. Here is that last one which I'll also have a look at:

/\ I understand what you are saying but sometimes some formats don't work for me that may work for others. For example I always tried to download in XVid format which for some unknown reason doesn't work on my new Samsung TV. Now I generally use MP4 or MKV from a select few uploaders that I trust.

Fairplay. Have also noticed Samsung TVs are cranky with certain file formats as are Sony. When time for a new one, will prolly stick with LG which plays pretty much everythying.

I've just watched this. I can't say I enjoyed it as such, because it's too plausible and too scary to enjoy. I posted this documentary a few months ago:

Now, let me start out by saying that while I enjoy sci-fi, I'm by no means a UFO nut. I don't watch alien abduction so-called documentaries and the like. However... this documentary is jam-packed with plausible, convincing testimony from all sorts of reliable sources, and makes a very good case for encounters with UFOs and, in some cases, alien beings. Judge for yourself.

I downloaded from YIFI.
"Unacknowledged" goes much further than the existence of UFOs (or UAP Unexplained Aerial Phenomena) and explores the reasons behind the secrecy. I won't say too much on the subject, but:
1. It is, perhaps inevitably, very US-centric. One wonders why other countries have chosen to keep silent. These things can't only have crashed in the USA.
2. Assuming that everything in the documentary is true, how come Dr G hasn't met with an unfortunate accident at some point in the last 20 years?
This is the way

One for the deniers, anti-vaxxers etc. Dr Fauci doesn't come out looking great initially. At some parts I must admit to a little wetness around the eyes. The futility of it all.

On a lighter note.
